Naruto's Counterattack: Never Give In! - Recap

The episode begins with a recap of the previous episode. Naruto asks what the password is again but Sasuke just wants to Naruto to get out of there, and the opposing ninja comments on how Naruto escaped from the snake. Naruto comments on how ninja should just run away, and desperate Sasuke tries to give the snake ninja the scroll and the snake ninja comments on how the prey sometimes realizes that they need to distract the predator with something even more precious, but Naruto catches the scroll and hits Sasuke. Naruto comments on how he doesn't think that Sasuke isn't the actual Sasuke because of the fact that Sasuke is just giving up and how the real Sasuke isn't a coward. The snake ninja comments that the statement is true and how she doesn't care because she can just kill them and get the scroll anyway. Naruto then attacks the ninja, then ninjas alert Anko about a group dead ninja while Anko is trying to eat. The ninja comments that there is something strange about them, and Anko comes with the ninja back to the scene. Apparently they were all participants from the Village of the Grass and their faces were completely gone. Anko seems to know whose jutsu this is, and wonders why that person is at the Chunin exams. Anko stares at the dead bodies and then asks for the photos of what the three ninjas used to look like. Anko wonders if it had already happened when the grass ninja returned her knife considering that one of them looks just like that ninja. She asked the two ninjas to get reinforcements and that she was going into the forest herself to deal with the culprit. The stage then returns to Naruto who is attacked again by the snake under the control of the person with the Grass ninja's face. Naruto then tries to hit the snake and is able to resist the imposter's stare. Sakura wonders where Naruto got all of the power, then the grass ninja sends fire at Naruto who seems to be knocked out. The imposter then charges at Sasuke who still can't seem to move, and then Anko is running through the trees praying that she is not too late. Naruto then stabs the snake that is attacking Sasuke before it can reach him, and then Naruto says the exact same thing that sasuke said when Naruto froze up on the bridgebuilder mission. "Hey, your not hurt are ya, scaridy cat." Which seems to jolt Sasuke a bit.Naruto once again comments that he is not the Sasuke that Naruto knows, and then the grass ninja captures Naruto with their toungue. The grass ninja then uses a jutsu which knocks Naruto out and then throws Naruto into a tree, and then Sakura uses a knife to freeze him by a tree and save Naruto. Sakura then comments on how at least Naruto is doing something and is not a coward. Sasuke then hears his brother's voice about how if he runs away he will after to deal with the shame for his entire life, which seems to jolt him out of his frightened state. The grass ninja then decides to play with Sasuke a little to find out the full extent of his powers, and then the snake on the ground vanishes. There is then a staredown between the Grass ninja and Sasuke which ends the episode.
