	Lt. A.J. Shimamura [S01-S02], played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa Lt. Shimamura is Nash's boss at the SIU. A veteran, he usually sticks to the office, but participates in a case now and then when the help is needed. Lt. Shimamura is a down to earth boss who keeps those in the SIU in line. He is a longtime co-worker of Insp. Bridges and lets Nash practice his unique method of investigating. However, he only stuck around the SIU for awhile, leaving to go back to his homeland of Hawaii after the second season.
