Substitute Teachers: A lot of teachers have taken a sick day and that only means one thing, substitutes. An old teacher, Mr. Weiner, from Ned, Moze, and Cookie's elementary school shows up to teach but his methods are not liked by the students. So Ned sets out to keep him at Polk by changing the way he teaches. Meanwhile Mr. Sweeney is also out and Moze takes advantage of being on the "Students to listen to" list and has the substitutes doing everything but teach. Cookie does Mr. Crubbs a favor by taking attendance for a class but it turns into more when he lists himself as a substitute teacher and teaches classes.
The New Kid: Ned welcomes the new kid Bernice to the school by being nice to her and she takes it the wrong way by thinking he is her boyfriend. Meanwhile Moze tries to help Gordy keep his job from the assistant janitor by creating the "School Clean Off ", and Cookie gets moved up to American Literature and pretends to be English.
