Dark Matter - Recap

The scene opens in the Newark Community Center at 3:15 am. Nikita is swimming while a mysterious man watches. She gets out and into the locker room. She sees the man and starts to whip him with her towel. She knocks him down to reveal it is Owen. He tells that he needs her help. A news report of footage released of American Operatives on the assassination of a political leader. At Langley, John Fiedler, tells that they don’t do this type of work anymore, but says that there is going to be fallout from this. Agent Ryan Fletcher tells that he has been searching around and found that a Black Ops team is secretly employed by the government and could possibly be behind this. Fiedler dismisses this theory and tells them to leave his office. Meanwhile, Nikita and Owen go to her hideout and Owen tells that he is in the fight as well. Nikita tells that someone is going to get framed for this. Owen tells that there is a Division Engineer and that he released the file so that Division will call on the Engineer to fix things.

Percy gets a call from an upset John and he tells that he has a junior analyst and tells that he denied Ryan’s request to go to Chile. Percy tells that he should send him because they are going to frame him for the incident. Percy hangs up the phone and pulls out one of the black boxes. In the computer lab, Birkhoff tells that the cadets are going to be creating a paper trail.
With Nikita and Owen, Nikita asks why he came to her. He tells that he thought that she wasn’t going to help him. He tells that he was only following orders. He asks for her help and she tells that they are going to do it by her rules. He agrees. Alex tells the new developments to Nikita and Owen tells her of the Engineer’s look and tells for Alex to watch out for him. Jaden walks up to Alex and tells that she is going to destroy her. Alex reminds her that she has a picture of Jaden coming out of her secret hiding place. Jaden tells that she won’t have that forever.

Nikita look up the IP address that Division is framing and finds out that it belongs to Ryan Fletcher. She looks him up and he has an address to Langley and Chile. Meanwhile, Ryan gets into Chile and meets up with Cleary. His phone rings and it is Nikita. She tells that he is going to be framed for the assignation of the political leader. He asks who he is talking to and suddenly gunfire shoots at the door and a man named Navaja takes Ryan captive. Owen gets ready to go and Nikita asks what he is doing. He tells that he is going with her. At Division, Michael talks to Percy and tells that Owen was the one that released the footage and not Nikita. He tells that the two of them are working together and Percy tells that they are going to be a force that is going to be hard to stop. Later on, Nikita and Owen arrive at CIA headquarters in Chile and she tells that she has credentials to go inside while Owen is not. She tells that he needs to wait in the truck.

Nikita goes inside and impersonates a CIA Agent. She looks at Ryan’s computer and finds the location of Navaja. Cleary tells that Langley has no record of sending her up to them and Owen comes up behind and knocks him on the head. At Navaja’s hideout, he is trying to get a confession out of Ryan for something he didn’t do. Back at Division, Alex sees that the Engineer arriving at Division and attempts to follow them. Jaden is there and she tells that they are sparring partners. She tells that she doesn’t want to, but Jaden tells that she doesn’t have a choice. In Birhoff’s office, the Engineer is criticizing Birkhoff’s successes and Percy tells that the Engineer’s drive got compromised. Birkhoff asks why the drive is not wireless. Percy tells that the two of them are going to work on that together to get it done. He raises Birkhoff’s security clearance to be able to do the task.

In the woods, Nikita and Owen arrive at the hideout and Nikita tells that they are not going to shoot because it will draw attention and Ryan will be killed because of it. Inside, the television is working and the Secretary of the State tells that Ryan is the one behind the assassination and that he is an Enemy of the State. Navaja likes that and puts a plastic bag over his head. Nikita and Owen enter and kill Navaja and his men. They rescue Ryan and he has a lot of questions. Nikita tells that they will answer them later. They go outside and Michael and some Division agents are waiting. At Division, Alex tries to get a hold of Nikita and decides to go in her secret passage and crawl to see the Engineer and Birkhoff trying to make the encryption wireless and to be able to be updated like that instead of a zip drive. The encryption keeps failing and the Engineer tells Birkhoff that he is not a “legend” anymore and that he is better then Birkhoff.

Nikita, Ryan and Owen have no choice but to run into the woods. Suddenly they are stopped by Cleary and his men and Michael and his men stand down and hide. In the air, Nikita and Owen are handcuffed and Ryan is talking to Cleary. Nikita reminds Owen that they are still playing by her rules. John Fielder calls up Percy again and he tells that Ryan escaped and is now on his way back to Langley. He tells that Percy needs to make sure that the plane never lands. In Birkhoff’s office, Birkhoff and the Engineer are playing Mortal Combat and Birkhoff finds a way to decrypt the code and downloads the files and the Black Box goes wireless. The Engineer tells that Percy is the trigger to broadcast. Jaden sees that the secret passageway is open and blocks Alex inside. She goes to Alex’s room and tries to find something. Percy comes into Birkhoff’s office and tells that he wants to test London and the Engineer tells that Birkhoff can run it on his own. Percy suddenly kills the Engineer and tells that Birkhoff is promoted. Alex tries to get out, but she is blocked.

Back in the air, Ryan talks to Nikita and she tells that the Black Ops team is secret and tells that he will only tell Ryan. Cleary agrees to leave them alone for 5 minutes. Back at Division, Jaden finds the phone with the picture, but there are no batteries. However, she sees Alex’s fingerprint that she used to break into Percy’s office. Alex jumps down from a vent and uses a mop to put the vent back up. Jaden enters with a security guard and Alex is there and tells that she couldn’t sleep. Nikita tells Ryan that the Ops team is Division and that they are trying to take them down because they made them do things that they regretted. She tells that they need to get off the plane now. Ryan agrees. Owen pretends to be sick and Nikita chokes Cleary so that Owen can get their parachutes on. They jump out of the plane. A news broadcast plays and Ryan is there telling that he has no comment yet, but he will soon. Nikita gets home and Alex tells that there is a new Engineer now and tells that they are testing it in London.

At Langley, John Fiedler is dead with pills being poured out on his desk by Roan. The news tells that John Fiedler was behind all the attacks. Nikita is back at the pool and Owen shows up. He tells that he is there to help her and she tells that they are going to go to London first. Owen gives her the black box and Nikita shoots it. She tells that they have 6 more to go with Percy being the last. Owen tells that Nikita was wrong about not being a hero and walks away.
