Rogue - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
The scene opens with Percy waiting by the car of a police detective. When he arrives, Percy says ‘nice car’. He knows that. Is Percy looking for him? Not anymore. Seeing that Percy’s tone is nowhere close to friendly, he tells him to get his ass off the car paint. That is when Percy dials 911, coldly gesturing the cop to shut up. He is calling to inform the brutal and senseless murder of a New York police detective. And before long, the saboteur guardian pulls the trigger on the cop. Back at Nikita’s place, she is a martial arts practice session with Michael, when Alex arrives. She says Amanda is in total control of Division, and with no Oversight, she can do anything. So what is she doing? Nothing, apart from making the death of Oversight members a national tragedy news.

The media is making it look like some anti-government people pulled the strings. However, Amanda is prepping a mission – that is to get Alex’s mother out of Russia. Is that a wise thing for Alex? Should she be supporting Amanda on this one? Michael is skeptical about Amanda’s intentions. Nikita sees the point, but also says that she would do what Alex wants if she were in her place. Besides, they can ensure what Amanda is doing. When it is a danger window, they can burn the bridges on time. So Alex’s decision is a wise one. Later, when Nikita and Michael are preparing with their ammos, Birkhoff sends them a heads up. It is about a news item that is being telecast across the country. The New York murder story has spread like wild fire, but only without his name anywhere to be found. The report of the murder is aired on TV, when Nikita and Michael recognize it easily.

And just beside where the detective’s blood spattered on the car, it reads ‘For Nikita’. That is exactly what Percy covered with his ass when standing in front of the detective’s car. The murder story is shocking for Nikita and Michael, as they wonder why Percy did this. Besides, the convicted for the murder is a teenager who has a record of drug abuse. After seeing the ‘For Nikita’ sign and learning about the flase conviction, she realizes that Percy is trying to shake her up. The guardian gets back to Percy’s place in New York, where he lets on the news has been published. Percy can see that. Then he calls up Senator Madelyn Pierce. Nikita gets a call from Pierce saying Percy’s on the line, and he wants to talk with her. He starts by saying they are both rogue, so they have a common enemy. For Nikita, the only person she would want to kill more than Amanda is Percy. Percy was afraid she would say so. And so, he will have to kill her. But it is not going to be that straightforward.

Her loved ones are going to be first. When Nikita lets on all her loved ones carry weapons, Percy points out no, not Carla Bennett. After, a long pause, Nikita pretends not to care about her. Percy lays back – why should she – she watched her back, and did things for her that made her want to call Carla her mother. In flashback, Nikita and Carla were the best of friends, and she was a big support for her – for whatever juvenile problems she went through. Besides, she saved her life in a bigger way than she could have imagined. When Nikita surprisingly wanted to know why she was so good to her, When Nikita lets on it was because she will be that way to someone else someday. Nikita lets on her intentions. She has no choice, when Michael suggests Percy is laying a trap for her. She is charged up enough to make sure she has her way through this.

Senator Pierce reads out her condolence speech. She makes a few touching notes, while towards the end, she says she has all her hopes on one her constituents – a woman who is great enough to do much for those less fortunate than her. She goes on, and before long, Percy mutters ‘clever’ to himself, as he watches the telecast. Meanwhile, Amanda has been briefing Alex about the plans of getting her mother back from Russia and Sergey’s den. She is arrogant in saying that Alex could not have pulled it off by herself, and that she needs Amanda’s help. So, they will have to work as a team – what she means is Amanda herself will be pulling the shots. Before long, Alex enters the planning room, where she is learning how much the money factor encourages Amanda in wanting to help Alex with her mother.

Meanwhile, Nikita is remembering the tough times when Carla came to her help. She is getting emotional about the various ways in which she had been subjugated to horrors and almost paralyzed. Before long, she is roaming the streets with Michael, and comes across someone who resembles Carla. Although it is hard to tell if it’s really her after years, she might just be Carla. Back at Division, Alex learns from Amanda’s assistant, that she has an update on Carla Bennett. A person convicted for drug abuse years ago, she is on Amanda’s priority hit list. Back on the streets, it turns out the woman is Carla – someone Nikita had been longing to wait. However, more importantly, she is the victim of poverty, and knows from the couple of channels she gets on her small television living inside a broken car. Michael is hurrying them out of the place – he foresees danger. However, Carla is too intrigued about how Nikita is out of jail. And when she says she can help Carla start over with enough money, she wonders how she could have made so much money after killing a cop – did she get out of jail only after seven years?

Before long, in comes an SUV, in which Percy is sitting, and a couple of his guardians step out, and start shooting at the three – as they hide behind a car. However, Carla decides to surrender herself – she is not going to let them hurt Nikita, once again for herself. Before long, as Nikita and Michael do up their wounds at home, Michael makes her realize how Percy played his game. He got Carla – just by laying a trap on her. Now he has Carla – which is exactly what Nikita was trying to prevent from happening. When Carla meets Percy, she wonders what happened to Rone’s face. The saboteur is hardly talking – and focuses on why Carla is here. Before long, Carla is laying into Percy for the dangers she had to face earlier. He was trying to kill her she says – which he blames on Amanda. But Carla replies may be Amanda tried to kill her – but Percy knew about it, didn’t he? However, this is what Percy wants now – he wants her to know that Amanda is after her life once again.

She has reinstated the sentence on her – which Carla cannot understand why. She has been living out of the grave – but that is not enough for Amanda it seems. Back at Division, Amanda and her assistant watch the news telecast on the police detective’s murder. The assistant wants to know what Percy could have to do with a police detective. Amanda tells her he is digging up Nikita’s past. That’s what this is all about. And besides, Amanda wants all surveillance resources focused on New York area, so that it gets easier to catch Percy. Meanwhile, Nikita wants answers. Why did Carla simply get into the car? She never took a hit. Later, when Nikita realizes it will be impossible to track Percy, she decides to use Alex – because she is at Division – they will need to use the internal links. So how does Alex keep this from Amanda? She doesn’t.

At Division, Alex uses the skills she learnt from Percy impressively enough for Amanda. Before long, they find a signal from the industrial sector area. Nikita and Michael get their and start prepping to attack, when the see the guardians arrive in a van. They report to Percy that a device around him has been pinged. And they have reason to believe Carla is clean. Before long, Percy realizes the ping never happened on any device it was him. Soon after that, lights and internal circuitry break down, and Percy’ s car is blown up. Bullets rain from both sides, but Percy manages escape. Back at Division, Amanda wants to know what’s Alex’s real plan. She insists she wants to save her mother – and yes she does love her. With Carla brought into Nikita’s place – a conversation brews filled with emotions. While Nikita wants answers, Carla suspects how Nikita went from being a convict to a state sponsored mercenary. The episode ends.
