One Life to Live

Long-running daytime serial One Life to Live is set in the fictional community of Llanview, which is modeled on the Philadelphia Main Line. Victoria Lord Davidson, a character that has stood the test of time since the show's beginning, is still an integral and necessary part of the colorful and diverse canvas today.

One Life to Live is one of the most critically-acclaimed daytime serials on television today, applauded for its exploration of social issues, diverse canvas, talented performers, and groundbreaking, innovative storylines that test the characters and the way that we, the audience, feel and react to those situations. One Life to Live is responsible for many precedents in daytime television, one of the most notable being the week of live shows that was done in May 2002. One Life to Live's groundbreaking and emotional stories include gang violence, interracial romance, lupus, medical misdiagnosis, overcoming illiteracy, racial prejudice, and split personalities. The show gained mass acclaim when it introduced a storyline involving a gay teen, and the storyline finished with the highly emotional display of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. In 1994, One Life to Live won four Daytime Emmy awards for a deeply emotional and riveting fraternity gang rape storyline. The show won four more Daytime Emmy awards in 2000, and also recieved the first CDC Sentinel for Health Award due to the storyline of Viki's (Erika Slezak) breast cancer. The show recieved two Daytime Emmy awards in 2001, and won Outstanding Drama Series in 2002.

One Life to Live continues to flourish with historic and intriguing familes such as the Lords, Buchanans, Cramers, McBains, and Vegas. The series, even after all of these years, delivers rich, powerful, and emotional storylines that fans both new and old will forever remember.

One Life to Live was created by Agnes Nixon (also the creator of All My Children), and the show first aired on television on July 15th, 1968.

The show was canceled in January 2012.

Allison Perkins says a story about Viki, using each of her married names. She reads to someone from a manuscript she has written called "One Life To Live." Natalie finds her sister looking at pictures of Ford on her computer. Jessica tells her that she is fine and thinks about all of the horrible things Mitch has done. Viki tries to make Clint see that no matter what the DNA results say, he will always be Jessica's real father. Viki ends up gasping after opening the results. As Jessica and Natalie enter the room, Clint grabs the results. Jessica learns that Clint is her real father. When Natalie goes to call Rex, Jessica answers the door to find Brody on the other side. He informs her that he was released yesterday and wanted to give her his condolences about Ford. Brody promises to be there for Jessica if she ever needs him. Clint asks Viki to become his wife. Tomas hugs his sister at John's who is relieved to see him. When John calls in a warrant to have Todd arrested, Tomas wants to call Blair. John thinks that it is a bad idea. Tea tells her brother that Blair doesn't know the truth about him or Todd. Tomas isn't happy when he finds out that Blair is growing closer to Todd. Tomas looks forward to Todd getting what is due to him. Blair and Todd enjoy a kiss after Todd draws her onto the bed. Todd ends up pulling away and tells her that he can't do this. Blair attempts to convince Todd to tell her what's wrong. Todd thinks that he is going to loose both her and their children. Todd and Blair end up making love as John shows up and announces that Todd's under arrest for murdering Victor. Vivian takes a look at Destiny and announces that the baby is on it's way right now. Matthew shows up and goes to Destiny's side. Matthew promises Destiny that he will be there for her and their new born child which turns out to be a boy. Matthew thinks that they should call the baby Drew. Starr shows up at Markko and Langston's place in California. Starr ends up telling them the truth about Cole still be alive. Starr and Langston talk about Ford whilst Markko is on the phone. Langston's pleased that he managed to find a family in Jessica and Ryder. Starr is surprised when Cole shows up having been sent there by Todd. Cole tells her about Patrick being alive and that his mothers doing much better. Cole tells Starr that he belongs with her and Hope. Allison ends up throwing the manuscript at the person in the bed who is revealed to be a very much alive Victor.
