Jamie pours all the candy hearts out as Haley wishes him a happy
Valentine's Day.
Brooke and Julian are having hot water issues, he should probably call
the plumber. Julian doesn't like him, because he's always checking
Brooke out. They banter and flirt a bit.
Quinn joins Clay in the shower for a Valentine's celebration.
Nate has a rash on his back, Haley checks it as they brush their teeth
in unison. He doesn't have Valentine's plans and didn't get her anything.
Julian and Brooke role play their plumber game.
Haley is destroying the closet because she's sure Nathan got her
something. He says he didn't, so he must have.
Chuck shows up at the bar, thinking he can have whiskey. Root beer it is.
Millie says "Half a muffin?" and Mouth wishes her a Happy Valentine's
Day. Mouth might get a job as a field reporter, so that's good news.
Brooke and Julian continue playing games, but now she's a french maid.
Sadly, the only word she knows in French is "oui".
Quinn arrives and finds Haley still looking for Nathan's present. She's
not really interested in Valentine's Day, though. She feels it's more
for new couples, like Quinn and Clay.
Clay informs Quinn that he doesn't like Valentine's Day. He thinks it's
just a user holiday. How women get flowers, candy and gifts. He
apologizes for not getting tickets to City and Color.
Quinn takes Jamie shopping for something for his girlfriend. He finds
shoelaces that he thinks are perfect. He wants a logical child's V-day
card. There aren't any, so Quinn offers to take him home to hand-make
one. Some little girl turns on the charm, beaming at Jamie. He can't get
out of there fast enough.
Clay found an amazing athlete that nobody has signed yet. Would Nate?
Nate says no. If he's that amazing, then there has to be a reason
everybody passed on him. Clay says it's Kellerman's son, and he's a
phenomenal baseball player.
Millie helps Mouth by allowing him to interview her so they can film it
and he can use it when he applies for the field reporter job. He phrases
his question so badly that Millie is hurt, and they have to start over.
Brooke and Julian's role-playing day continues. She's the underage
nanny. It gets a little creepy, so they reverse roles.
Chuck continues giving Chase grief. They talk about his dad, how long
he's been gone and why he never sent for Chuck. He said he would when he
got settled, but it's been two years.
Haley continues tearing the house apart and finds Nate's Valentine stash.
Kellerman informs Nate and Clay that his dad is a douche bag. He starts
drinking, which they see as being a little early in the day. He wants
whatever money he can get upfront, because he's one curve ball away from
blowing out his arm and being washed up like Nate and Clay. He's easily
as big a jerk as his dad. He wants everything now, and they can help
themselves to the beer. Nate reacts to being called old, while Clay says
he likes him.
Mouth works on his interview from a different angle. Now Millie is
supposed to be interviewed as a witness seeing a tiger escape.
Quinn and Jamie come through as Haley takes an exacto knife to the tape
holding her gift closed. Quinn says she's getting concert tickets. Clay
wouldn't have brought them up if he actually didn't get them. Haley
thinks they're not even meeting with a player. They are probably both
out getting their women something special for tonight.
Nate and Clay hash out Kellerman. Do you walk away from talent, if the
guy is a complete jackass? Nate recognizes himself, back in the day. The
kid's got a difficult father, and he feels like the world owes him
something. He wants to talk to Ian one more time before they move on.
Clay wonders if Nate wants to help Ian, or just screw with his father.
Nate doesn't know. Maybe both.
Chuck and Chase share a root beer, while they commiserate about how much
V-day sucks. Chase finally calls him on the Chuck punch. He tries to
help Chuck share what matters to him, and Chuck says show tunes. Not
just listen. He writes. He performs one for Chase. He has a good voice,
and the writing isn't horrible.
Jamie gets Madison's valentine ready.
Chuck finishes his song, and Chase applauds.
Haley re-hides her Valentine's stash.
Chuck works on the valentine for his mom. He tells Chase that he's
considered what he said about sharing who you are and what you like, so
he thinks he'll sing his song at school. Chase makes an effort to talk
him out of it. He goes in back to 'do something', and wakes up Chuck's
mom. She had a little too much to drink. Chuck doesn't know she's there,
and he's not going to. She asks if he ate, and Chase says yes; awhile
ago. He was hoping to have dinner with his mom. He called her a cab to
get home, and he'll bring Chuck in a little while.
She tries to blame Chase for getting her drunk, but he lets her know
that she was like that when she got there. The bar isn't even open
today. He tells her that Chuck made a card for her, and he's proud of
it. She might want to make a big deal out of it when she gets home.
Brooke says these are the days they'll remember when they look back. The
wonderful memories.
Millie and Mouth eat chinese food and reminisce. He lied about the
half-muffin being her Valentine's gift. He got her her very own muffin!
And some of her favorite makeup. But it's very expensive. He'll get
extra hours to cover. Millie did the same, but she gives him half of her
muffin, and a tie. They say they love each other, and kiss.
Quinn and Clay arrive at Trick, but it's closed. He feels very bad, as
he's ruined her Valentine's Day. He goes to confront Chase, and finds
Chuck acting as their maitre'd. He brings them to their table, they have
the whole place to themselves. Chase takes the stage and introduces City
and Color, performing just for the two of them. As he performs, Jamie
and Madison open their valentines from each other. She loves her
shoelaces, and he loves the wristbands she got him. They go play skeet ball.
Nate gets home and finds Haley all dolled up and putting out a candle
light dinner. He's surprised, he thought they were just going to watch a
movie. He doesn't even know why he tries to hide anything from her, and
goes to get her presents while she grins from ear-to-ear. He comes out
with one rose and a card, kisses her and says he's going to go take a
shower.
Brooke accidentally greets the pizza guy as though he were Julian,
because she didn't actually want pizza. She thought they were still
role-playing.
The necklace was for Quinn, Nate was just holding it for him. Quinn got
Clay heart shoelaces, just like the ones Jamie got Madison. In her
defense, he did say "no presents." He says Quinn is right, and kisses
her. He offers to take her gift back, but she refuses. City and Color
sings again.
Chase gets Chuck home and drops him at the curb. He tells Chuck his song
was so good, that he's going to see if he can get it recorded. Chuck
makes a smart remark about Jamie's mom, but then corrects himself and
thanks Chase. As he's getting out of the car, he says "Two years is a
long time, huh." Chase tells him it's not that long. Chuck says if
Chase is busy tomorrow, they don't have to hang out, but Chase says
he'll see him tomorrow. Chuck's mom tells him the card is beautiful. She
exchanges a glance with Chase before going in the house.
Haley is mad at Nathan because of the diamond necklace. He tries to tell
her she wasn't supposed to snoop. She follows him down the hall and
finds their beautiful Valentine's dinner setup. He got her Ho-Ho's, and
she bursts into happy tears. The earrings are hers, and he explains how
he hid the necklace for Quinn.
Jamie and Madison share a banana split. One of each of their shoes has
the heart shoelaces, and she's wearing one of his wristbands.
Julian tells Brooke he thinks they should adopt. He loves what his life
is now, and he knows there is a child out there for them. One where they
will wonder how they ever lived without this person. And their child
will know that they are wanted and needed, and they were searched for,
just like he searched for Brooke. She wants to know if he's sure that
they're ready, and he is.
Mouth gets a call from the station, it's for Millie.
Nate feed Haley Ho-Ho bites. They kiss. It's a perfect Valentine's Day.
