After a bad fight with both his father and Haley, and while dealing with the constant pressure to be the best, Nathan takes amphetamines to improve his game. However, the drugs take a serious toll on Nathan mentally and physically and they soon land him in the hospital. Meanwhile, Peyton decides to take a chance on Lucas and goes to restart their relationship, but finds that Lucas and Brooke have started a relationship of their own.

Haley: Oh, but we're not alone in my bedroom; we have the forefathers with us.
Nathan: They can watch.
(after Nathan comes to Haley's house from the hospital)
Nathan: Haley, can I stay with you tonight?
(Haley nods and closes the door)

Nathan: I'm happy mom. Dad loves me.
During the episode it is clear that Chad Michael Murray's (Lucas) C.M.M. tattoo has been covered by skin tape. If you look carefully you can see part of the tape.
While Keith is talking to Lucas about his new tattoo, Lucas' sleeve goes from being rolled up to being down between shots near the end of the scene.
Lucas says that his tattoo means "fun" but it actually means "have"

Even though Nathan took game enhancing drugs, he suffers no consequences at school. However in reality, students caught with drugs at school or caught taking drugs to enhance their ability on the court would suffer major consequences, which may include suspension or expulsion from school.
