Lucas and Keith learn about Dan's heart attack and have to choose between staying in Charleston or lending support to their family back in Tree Hill. Deb, dealing with guilt of being the cause of Dan's heart attack, lashes out at Nathan and Haley when she learns that they got married. Meanwhile, Brooke and Peyton work on mending their friendship, both angry at Lucas for leaving without saying goodbye.

| Keith: All right just to recap. On the "reasons to stay" side we got: Dan's an ass, you were an ass, my new teaching job, we both get a fresh start, your mother annihilated my heart, and this apartment has a killer view.
| Brooke: Wanna know a secret? I was secretly pulling for you and Jake.
Peyton: Even when I was at the top of your bitch list?
Brooke: Even then, you know why?
Peyton: Why?
Brooke: Because I wasn't into him.
| Jimmy: Well if it isn't Haley James. In my house between the hours of 8 and midnight.
Haley: Hello Daddy.
Jimmy: Daddy? Uh-oh. This is gonna be expensive.
| Nathan: Mr and Mrs. James, you know that I'm emancipated and that I respect both of you very much and --
Jimmy: I think I know where you're going with this. Now if we adopt you, the making out with Haley is gonna have to stop ... at least in public.
Haley: Could you guys just be serious for like one minute of my life please? God.
Nathan: I'd like the marry your daughter.
Jimmy: I didn't see that coming.

| When Keith and Lucas are making their list on the cardboard box, the way that "Nathan" is written on the box changes between shots.
| The timeline of the flashbacks shown in this episode don't follow with the events of "The Games That Play Us". At the end of "The Games That Play Us", Haley tells Lucas that she and Nathan got married last night. However, in the flashbacks Nathan and Haley got married during the day on the beach.

In the WB series Felicity, star Keri Russell cut her trademark long, curly hair during the final season. Shortly after her hair cut, the ratings for the show fell sharply and the series was cancelled. Some fans attribute the cancellation and ratings drop to Russell cutting her hair, but in fact the ratings drop may have been due to a timeslot change.
