Karen decides to spend the summer with Andy in New Zealand, but is shocked when she sees Keith for a brief moment outside of her cafe. Brooke prepares to move to California, but before she does so Lucas confesses to her his true feelings for her. Meanwhile, several citizens' tensions mount against Dan, someone seeks their revenge on him by drugging Dan then setting the dealership on fire. Elsewhere, Haley quits the tour and arrives home at Nathan's doorstep.

It's stated in this episode that Peyton's middle name is Elizabeth, but in past episodes Brooke has referred to her as Peyton Marie Sawyer.
| When Peyton helps Nathan pack, she comes across a picture from the beginning of their school year, which would have taken place in the beginning of last season. However, in the picture Peyton has the hairstyle she had during season 2, not season 1.
