Karen decides to spend the summer with Andy in New Zealand, but is shocked when she sees Keith for a brief moment outside of her cafe. Brooke prepares to move to California, but before she does so Lucas confesses to her his true feelings for her. Meanwhile, several citizens' tensions mount against Dan, someone seeks their revenge on him by drugging Dan then setting the dealership on fire. Elsewhere, Haley quits the tour and arrives home at Nathan's doorstep.

| Peyton: Brooke, I'm sorry. I know you had feelings for Lucas.
Brooke: Phantom feelings. Like, when you lose a leg and try to scratch it. Lucas was my gangrene infected amputated limb.
| Brooke: Well, well. First Lucas, then Jake and now Nathan. I guess slutty is in season.
Peyton: And why is bitch being a Brooke?
Brooke: Because! I'm leaving tomorrow for the summer, possibly forever, and my best friend is off giving interviews and having psuedo-innocent foreplay with kind-of married guys!
| Ellie: My name is Elizabeth.
Peyton: Great! So even your name is a lie.
Ellie: Like your middle name, Elizabeth. That's how you got your middle name.
Peyton: Who are you?
Ellie: I'm your mother.
| Deb: Do you need help with anything?
Nathan: No, I just, I have one more bag in the car.
Deb: Okay.
(Nathan opens the door to go back outside and freezes when he sees Haley, teary-eyed, in the doorway)
Haley: Hi.

Lucas: Looks like it’s just you and me this summer.
| Peyton: (to Nathan) Are you not helping me move you because it brings back bad memories or because you're a lazy pile of crap?

| It's stated in this episode that Peyton's middle name is Elizabeth, but in past episodes Brooke has referred to her as Peyton Marie Sawyer.
| When Peyton helps Nathan pack, she comes across a picture from the beginning of their school year, which would have taken place in the beginning of last season. However, in the picture Peyton has the hairstyle she had during season 2, not season 1.
