Episode Notes
Barry Corbin (Coach Whitey) and Craig Sheffer (Keith Scott) do not appear in this episode. However, the two are shown briefly in a flashback of a previous episode.
Lee Norris (Mouth) has been added as a series regular.
This is the first appearance of Larry Sawyer, Peyton's father, since "
The Leaving Song". In season 1, Larry is played by Thomas Ian Griffith and beginning with this episode, the role of Larry is now recasted as Kevin Kilner.
Kevin Kilner (Larry Sawyer) and Chad Michael Murray (Lucas Scott) previously worked together in the film A Cinderella Story. Kilner played the father of Austin Ames, Chad Michael Murray's character.
Instead of a voiceover by Lucas, Peyton supplies this episode's closing voiceover.
Episode Quotes
Peyton: (voiceover) At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world. Six billion souls. And sometimes...all you need is one.
Haley: Nathan, you just walked away!
Nathan: Well it beats running away.
Haley: I did call.
Nathan: You called our answering machine Haley!
Haley: Because I knew that you were going to hang up on me anyway so I had to leave a message.
Nathan: Well I didn't even play it. I deleted you.
Haley: Well, then you deleted this: I was being childish when I walked away from you for the tour. You gave me an ultimatum the night that I left and, uh, I fought back for all the wrong reasons. I was being stubborn ... and I can't take that back, I wish that I could. Did I want to go? Yeah. I loved it. I loved every night of it. But I want you to know something Nathan. There was never a night where I loved it more than I loved you.
Haley: I understand ... if you don’t love me anymore.
Nathan: Always and forever. That’s what sucks, Haley. I still do love you. I always will. I just can’t trust you.
Lucas: I did something tonight, Peyton and I can’t take it back.
Haley: Nathan, there wasn't a moment that my heart wasn't in Tree Hill.
Nathan: Unlike you I'm leaving and taking heart with me.
Haley: Hi.
Nathan: What are you doing here?
Haley: I want to come home, Nathan.
(at High Flyers)
High Flyers Player:Yo big time! You got a letter, man.
Nathan: A letter? From who?
High Flyers Player: I don't know, but whoever it is, she smells hot. You better just hope she doesn't meet me.
Haley: I'm really sorry, Nathan.
Nathan: About my dad or about us?
Haley: About everything.
Nathan: So what are you doing here anyway? Tour playing Tree Hill?
Haley: No. They wanted me to become a solo artist, record a record or something, but ... it didn't matter without you. None of it mattered without you.
Haley: Nathan, there wasn't a moment when I was away, that my heart wasn't with you in Tree Hill.
Nathan: That's great. But I'm still leaving tomorrow. And unlike you, I'm taking my heart with me.
Brooke: You and Haley fighting?
Peyton: That depends on which Haley you're talking about. Haley Scott, the nice girl who played Tric? Or, Haley James, not so much wife that left town and never called? Because her I have a problem with.
Deb: I could use a cup of gin, I mean, coffee, myself. Karen?
Karen: Yeah please, coffee, not gin.
Haley: I'll have gin.
Brooke: Ok, here's the deal. I got room for you but not a lot of pity. You did what you did and it's done. Take it or leave it.
Haley: I'll take it.
Brooke: Alright. Come on in roommate.
