Barry Corbin (Coach Whitey) and Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb Scott) do not appear in this episode.

Nathan: Stop it.
Haley: What?
Nathan: Whatever you're worrying about. Just stop.
Haley: How do you know I'm worried? You didn't even open your eyes.
Nathan: You think I need to see you with my eyes to know what's going on with you. What's on your mind?
Haley: I was just wondering if maybe I should go home.
Nathan: Why would you do that?
Haley: Because I don't want to wake up and have you not be here again.
Nathan: I'll be here. I'm not going anywhere.

Keith: (to Karen) How about a kiss instead of a coffee?

Lucas: You're psychotic!

Brooke: And what is the difference?
Lucas: Because I love you!

Rachel: No offense but I don't need you to make Brooke jealous.
Mouth: So I don't even get that.

Rachel: Look um, let me help you. Give you the benefit of my expertise. I can teach you how to become one of the guys the elite girls drool over.
Mouth: By being mean to them.
Rachel: Sometimes.
Mouth: But I'm not that guy Rachel, and I don't want to be. So maybe the elite girls just aren't for me then. But one of these days I'm gonna meet a girl who actually loves me and maybe she won't be what you call hot but I'll think she's beautiful and I'll tell her so. I won't be mean to her because I won't have to play a game with her. I'll just be the guy that she can always count on and that'll be enough and she'll be elite to me.

Ellie: Don't be afraid Peyton. Every song has a coda, a final movement, whether it fades out or crashes away. Every song ends, is that any reason not to enjoy the music?
Peyton: It doesn't mean I can't want it to not end.
Ellie: Look at you. You've had more life changing events in the first 17 years of your life than I'd wish on anyone. You got the surviving part down. I want you to focus more on the living.
Peyton: Sometimes surviving is about all the living I can handle.
Ellie: I don't buy that for one second. And if you keep this up hiding in your art and your sadness, you're really gonna miss out. Because the truth is, there is nothing to be afraid of. It's just life.

Brooke: But why? I need to know why.
Lucas: Because you kink your eyebrow when your trying to be cute. And you quote Keimoo, even though I've never actually seen you read. And because, you miss your parents, but you'll never ever admit that. And because I've given exactly two of these embarrassing speeches in my entire life, and they've both been with you. I mean, that's gotta mean something right? And because we're both gonna get pneumonia, but if you need to hear why I love you, I can go on all night.

Haley: Nathan, when I look back on the tour, I'm not like proud of it, because I know you weren't proud of me.
Nathan: Is that what you think, that I wasn't proud of you? Let me show you something. It's in my car.
Haley: Nathan, its crazy out there.

Haley: Ahh. What? Yes, I had a second bowl. I was hungry.
Nathan: No, it's not that, I'm just remembering.
Haley: Remembering what?
Nathan: Your hair. You wore it that way the first day you tutored me.
Haley: You remembered how I wore my hair the first day I tutored you?
Nathan: Course.
Haley: What else do you remember?
Nathan: I remember the ugly ass poncho that you wore.
Haley: Oh my God, yes you made your feelings for that particular item of clothing very clear. Come on. Tell me really.
Nathan: Well, um, let's see, these jeans, you wore them the day we fell asleep in the park together. And these shoes, you wore these the day we got stuck at the DMV for five hours while we waited for your new license with my last name on it.
Haley: What about my shirt?
Nathan: You wore that shirt in the morning when you sat in the living room and playing that Beatles song on your guitar. The sun just framed your face so perfectly.
Haley: Blackbird. It was the name of the Beatles song that I played.
Nathan: I remember more than you think.

Nathan: Haley, what are you doing here? Aren't the roads all closed?
Haley: I know, I know, but I have to talk to you. I decided to go to Duke.
Nathan: Whoa. Okay, why don't you come inside?
Haley: Duke's a really great school and I think I can be really happy there especially if I was with you.
Nathan: You can't go to Duke, Hales and I don't want you to.
Haley: You don't want me to, right. Right, what was I thinking because you told me you loved me after the basketball game and silly me I thought that feeling was going to last for longer than, I don't know, one night. But then again, I forgot you're the guy who loves to rip the rug out from under me just when I feel like we've given some sort of stable ground.
Nathan: Haley.
Haley: You freak out after we have sex for the first time in God knows how long and, by the way I know exactly how long it was and frankly, I'm still pissed off at you for the whole birth control thing. (Nathan smiles) What?
Nathan: Haley, you can't go to Duke because I'm going to Stanford.

Right after the lights go out Haley scarf goes back and forth from around her neck, to down parallel with her arms.

"Missing You"

The Tyler Hilton cover of "Missing You" plays during the episode. In "Champagne For My Real Friends, Real Pain For My Sham Friends", Haley tells Nathan that while she was singing "Missing You" during a concert she realized that her career didn't matter without Nathan.

In previous episodes featuring Nathan and Haley's relationship, the use of rain has been used to bring the couple back together after a break up. In season 1's "The Games That Play Us", Nathan and Haley are able to make up after a fight during a rain storm, and in this episode, their marriage begins to be mended, facilitated by the massive rainstorm that hits Tree Hill.
