  Episode Summary
Brooke heads to New York for the Rogue Vogue fashion show where she encounters a life very different from her own -- a whirlwind life of non-stop partying, drinking and drugs that makes her think about what she really wants the most. At the annual Secret competition, Nathan and Lucas reevaluate their own lives after spending the night with the family of an old friend. With Brooke in New York, Rachel takes over as head of the squad and Peyton joins her for a night of drinking to get over Ellie's death. Meanwhile, much to Rachel's dismay, Brooke decides to leave New York to be with her friends at the competition, which the squad ends in style, and Haley and Nathan use their hotel room as the honeymoon suite they never had.

  Episode Quotes
Lucas: (voiceover) Most of our life is a series of images that pass us by like towns on the highway. But sometimes a moment stuns us as it happens and we know that this instant is more than a fleeting image. We know that this moment, every part of it, will live on forever.

Peyton: You never worked so hard for anything in your life, except your fake ID!

Karen: (to Keith) Marry me.

Lucas: You know Peyton, you can learn a lot from Ellie. She struck me as tough.
Peyton: Yeah.

Haley: Brooke, what the heck? What about the fashion show?
Brooke: I have the rest of my life for that stuff. Not so much to be seventeen with my friends.

Rachel: Look, I was trying to help you out. I'm sorry if it's not what you wanted.
Peyton: You know what? Ya can't see it, but underneath my sunglasses, I'm rolling my eyes.

Peyton: How drunk was I last night?
Lucas: Drunk enough to puke six times.
Peyton: Lemme guess. Rachel?
Lucas: Yeah. Rachel's probably not the best person to use the buddy system with.
Peyton: I feel like you're always rescuing me. Also like there's a giant elephant standing on my head.

Skills: Baby, you look hot.
Bevin: Oh no, I don't really have a fever. That was a lie.

Coach: I'm telling you, I didn't order any ... pornography.

Haley: Oh God this bed is so comfortable. Room service?
Nathan: Actually let's have a proper sit down breakfast somewhere, family style.
Haley: Family style sounds perfect.

Nathan: Yeah, very funny Lucas. Your ass is still sleeping on the floor.
(Nathan walks into the bathroom to find Haley in the bathtub)
Haley: Surprise. I switched rooms with Lucas, I don't have to sleep on the floor do I?
Nathan: How'd you manage to switch rooms?
Haley: Well believe it or not Bevin "mastermind" Maskey arranged the whole thing.
Nathan: Come here. You have any room in there for me?
Haley: I thought you'd never ask. (Nathan gets into the tub fully clothed) Nathan! (they kiss)

  Episode Goofs
Nathan sits down twice when he gets on the bus.

While Nathan and Haley are lying on the floor, the position of his wedding ring necklace changes between shots.

Nathan gets back to the room and finds the candles. He says "nice try Lucas but you're still sleeping on the floor", but when Lucas and Nathan played "rock, paper, scissors" for the bed, Nathan lost so Lucas should have the bed anyway.

The dialogue that Brooke and Rachel share when Brooke arrives unexpectedly at the cheerleading competition is the same as the dialogue they share in "A Mulititude of Casualties" before Midnight Madness.

  Analysis
The plot of this episode parallels the plot of season 1's "Spirit in the Night". In the season 1 episode, the basketball team and cheer squad head out of town for a basketball game and cheerleading competition, much like this episode. However, this episode focuses on both the cheerleading competition and basketball tournament, where in season 1, only the cheerleading competition is shown. Similar to season 1, Nathan and Haley's relationship take a large step during the episode as well.
