One Tree Hill: Who Will Survive, and What Will Be Left of Them

Tree Hill comes together to cope with the school shooting tragedy that resulted in two deaths. Dan grapples with the guilt of murdering Keith after Keith's funeral. With this guilt, Dan attempts to make up time with Lucas and Karen, but Karen's anger towards him only adds to the guilt. Meanwhile, Nathan and Haley see that life is too short to be apart and decide to live together again. Elsewhere, at a party thrown at the school to help ease the pain of the shooting, Mouth learns who really released the time capsule; Brooke is hurt when Lucas isn't able to talk to her about Keith's death; and Lucas disobeys Karen and attends Jimmy's funeral.

Episode Quotes
Rachel: I'm the one that released the time capsule.

Lucas: Keith would still be alive if I didn't go back in there!

Young Keith: Why'd you do that!? Why'd you kill him?
Young Dan Scott: He was weak.

Nathan: I want us to live together. I want to be your husband again, Haley.
Haley: That sounds so good to me, but I have a room mate named Brooke.
Nathan: It doesn't matter.
Haley: And our dream schools are 3000 miles away.
Nathan: Doesn't matter.
Haley: And neither of us have jobs.
Nathan: It doesn't matter! You know how long it took me to realize that? The amount of time it takes to pull a trigger. I love you, Haley James, and that's all I need to know. It doesn't mean it's not going to be hard. It doesn't mean it's not going to be confusing. But whatever it is, we'll face it together.
Haley: You are quite charming, you know that?
Nathan: You haven't even seen my "A" game.
Haley: Oh Lord, help me if that's true.
Haley: Scott by the way. You called me, Haley James. Haley James Scott. It always will be.

Peyton: God, I'm such a girl!
Lucas: You love me.
Peyton: Okay, that is so not fair.
Lucas: You probably just want to kiss me again...
Peyton: Dude, shut up!

Peyton: Tonight, after the party, I hooked up with Pete from Fall Out Boy, we made out!
Brooke: Oh, Peyton, we're gonna find you a boyfriend, honey, you don't have to lie about it. Now how do you feel about a round bed?
Peyton: Whatever you say, roommate!

(to Karen about going to Jimmy's funeral)
Lucas: It's what Keith would have wanted.

(Nathan and Haley are on a blanket on the school football field)
Nathan: I want you to know something. If anything ever happens to me, if you ever lose me, I want you to know how happy you made me. How wonderful my life was with you and I always will be with you.
Haley: Nothing's going to happen to you.
Nathan: I know. I know you are right. But if it does, I want you to be okay Haley and know you made me happy. (the sprinklers come on)
Nathan: You wanted rain!
Haley: It's not possible to be this in love!

Episode Goofs
When Haley and Nathan are sitting in bed together at first you see Haley without a bra and later on when there are close ups there is a bra strap visible.

Episode Title: Who Will Survive, and What Will Be Left of Them?

Who Will Survive, and What Will Be Left of Them? is the title of a 2003 Murder by Death album.

Analysis
In reality, it would be highly unlikely that Brooke would be able to organize a late night party at the school without the school administration or police department being upset. At the party there is kegs and other alcohol being served, yet the party in the school is able to go off without a hitch or any sort of repercussions the following day at school. Whitey knows about the party, but does nothing showing a total 180 his attitude towards students drinking that has been shown in several past episodes.
