Derek finally convinces Peyton to follow her heart and be with Lucas just as Brooke decides that she wants to get back together with him. Both Nathan and Rachel turn to unlikely people for help -- Nathan to his father for help with Daunte's latest demand and Rachel to Haley for tutoring after she receives an F. Meanwhile, at the annual Ravens sports banquet Nathan is named the team's MVP of the year.

Peyton: How did it go with Brooke?
Lucas: I realized tonight that it's over between me and Brooke. And she realized it, too.
Peyton: I love you Lucas.

Peyton: You don't understand. I've been holding this in for a really long time, and you just need to know. I love you. I'm in love with you.
| Whitey: You do realize we have one more game to play. Let me tell you, this award means an awful lot to me. I might have given a lifetime to this team, but the players ... the players have given me so much more. You know basketball was my first love, and as most of you in here realize, you don't forget your first love. My only regret is that I can't share this wonderful moment with the other love of my life, my late wife, Camilla. Camilla was the only person who ever fully understood me. Being with her made everything else seem less important. The moment I met her I knew I was looking at my future and I knew no person could ever come between us. I know Camilla would have liked this group of boys. I want to thank them and I want to thank all of you for allowing me to spend a lifetime with my first love. Thank you.

Shari: Actually, Timmy is doing really well. He's at a private institution that focuses on each student's strengths and weaknesses.

Karen: She's grown into a strong woman. I can't believe she's gonna be a mom. It seems like yesterday that she was coming and asking Lucas to come out and play.
Dan: You know, they're definitely young. But at least they have each other. Nathan's going to be a great father. Karen, I realize you have no regrets, but I do. I just need you to know that.

"Nothing Left To Say But Goodbye" is the title of a song by Audioslave from their Revelations album.

| The lyrics to the Audioslave song that the episode was named after, "Nothing Left To Say But Goodbye", can be applied to Nathan's deal with Daunte: "I was lost and nearly drowned and kicked around/But now I'm found and I won't run away." Like the lyrics suggest, Nathan was unable to come up with enough money for his and Haley's bills, nearly drowning in debt, so he made a deal with Daunte to get the money. Daunte used, bullied, and kicked around Nathan to get what he wanted, and once Nathan held up his end of the bargain, he stood up to Daunte. Though scared, Nathan ultimately decides that he can't run away from his problem with Daunte, but face it head on instead.
