Lucas: (voiceover) Have you ever had a dream that seemed so real when you woke up you didn't know what to believe? (after Deb shimmies down the bedsheets hanging over the balcony)
Deb: This place is just not for me.
Nurse: You do know this is a voluntary clinic? If you want to leave, all you have to do is sign out.
Deb: Oh.

Lucas: What's wrong Peyton?
Peyton: I wanna kiss you Luke, I do. I just don't want to lose you.
Lucas: Hey, what makes you think you're going to lose me?
Peyton: Only the fact that I lose everyone I care about. Anytime I open up to someone they walk out of my life or they die or they move away or they get shipped off to Iraq or they turn into freakin' Norman Bates or --
(Lucas kisses her)
Lucas: Not everyone.
Peyton: Luke, the last time we kissed you had a heart attack.
Lucas: And I didn't die. I couldn't die. Do you know why? Because I had to come back and look into those green eyes of yours and tell you I love you. I do! I love you, Peyton. You didn't push me away. I came back for you. And no matter how long it takes, I'll wait for you.

Haley: I need to know that you're going be honest with me.
Nathan: I promise.
Haley: I need to know that you're going to let me in, Nathan. I mean, all the way.
Nathan: I will, okay? I'll let you in. If that's what it takes, I'll let you in. It's just, sometimes I'm afraid that if I do you'll see the real me, the guy I was before you. I'm not proud of that person, the one that I used to be, but if I have to be that guy to keep you safe, then that's who I'm going to be. Look, if you want me to apologize for defending you, or for fighting back when somebody hurts you, I can't do that. I won't do that, okay, because, the truth is, that's a guy I'll never be. The guy that just stands by and watches while the world hurts you. Can you understand that?
Haley: I can't --
Nathan: Haley, you have to.
Haley: No, I can't keep standing on one foot. So, if there's more I should sit down, but if you're done then just take me home because I'm tired and I miss you and I love you, every version of you.

When Lucas is at Keith's grave, the day of Keith's death reads March 23, 2006 on his headstone. At Jimmy's grave, his day of death reads March 1, 2006. Since both Keith and Jimmy died on the same day, they should both have the same day of death.

When Nathan brings Haley the soup, he takes it out of the bag then grabs the remote to turn off the TV. Once the TV is off, Nathan takes the soup out of the bag again.

Episode Title: Everything in its Right Place

"Everything in its Right Place" is the title of a song by Radiohead.

Norman Bates is the main character of the novel Psycho that was later made into a film by Alfred Hitchcock. In the story, Norman kills his mother then convinces himself that he is her so he doesn't have to deal with the fact that he murdered her.

The flashbacks in this episode were from "Songs to Love And Die By".

Dan taking the blame for Daunte's death marks the first time that Dan has ever put himself on the line to protect Nathan, emotionally and physically. In the past, Dan has put himself first over both of his sons, often times intentionally hurting them in order to get what he wants. His actions in this episode are a far cry from "All That You Can't Leave Behind" when during the father-son basketball, Dan deliberately injures Nathan in order to score the winning basket during the game.
