During Prom day, the effects of Nathan's pre-Prom party continue to ripple through Tree Hill. After seeing the sex tape that surfaced during the party, Haley confronts Nathan and demands a list of his past sexual relationships. Rachel is expelled from school after taking the blame over the stolen calculus exam for Brooke. Peyton admits to Lucas that she wants to skip Prom altogether, but Lucas sets out to change her mind and won't take no for an answer. Meanwhile, Mouth and Brooke each deal with dating a Clean Teen on Prom night.

The episode opens with a flashback to two years ago on the night that Brooke/Nathan sex tape was made. Nathan is drunk and flirting with girls at a party at Nathan’s house. Peyton becomes angry with him, but nothing she says phases Nathan so she breaks it off with him. Peyton leaves the party and Nathan sits down on the couch with Brooke, who is also drunk. He talks to Brooke about how Peyton just broke up with him. Their stares meet and the scene cuts to Brooke and Nathan kissing in a bedroom. Nathan and Brooke pull their shirts off and fall onto a bed together. Nathan stops kissing her to turn on the video camera. Analysis
For the first time in the series, Lucas calls Dan "Dad" instead of calling him Dan. Lucas has often made references that Dan is his father, but never has he called Dan "Dad" to his face, showing that recently they have made strides in their father-son relationship. Ironically, this large step in their relationship comes at a time when Lucas is close to realizing who really killed Keith, as well as a time that parallels Dan and Karen's relationship 18 years ago.
