In high school, Karen and Dan were together and Karen got pregnant during the summer following their senior year. Instead of staying in Tree Hill with Karen, Dan chose to attend college on his basketball scholarship. During Dan's fall orientation at college he met Deb and three months later, Deb also became pregnant. Possibly thinking that he could make up for abandoning Karen by doing right by Deb and Nathan, Dan married Deb. In March of the following year Lucas was born and in June Nathan was born, making Lucas only three months older than Nathan.

Karen's Cafe was previously Jen's Radio Station on the WB series Dawson's Creek.

One Tree Hill is filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, the same town that Dawson's Creek was filmed.

One Tree Hill is available for download on the iTunes Music Store for $1.99 per episode. Currently only season 4 episodes are available and new episodes are available the day after they air on television. | Will One Tree Hill Return For a Fifth Season?:
Yes -- One Tree Hill was officially renewed on May 17, 2007 during the CW upfront presentation. In the days prior to the presentation, it was confirmed that One Tree Hill would return for a 5th season and 22 episodes were ordered for the season. More information about the renewal can be found here. Filming for season 5 began on July 18, 2007.
