The scene opens with Garza being woken up by his bookie, Doc Levin. He is mad that Garza is in expensive hotels when he has a debt of $300,000 he still has to pay. Doc tells that he has 24 hours to deliver or else. The next morning, Lucinda and Mereta are discussing a news headline about a woman who forgot her baby in the minivan for six hours. The District Attorney’s office is charging her with murder. Both woman laugh that Garza and Al are mainly reading the sports and Garza starts thinking and runs off to a meeting. Garza goes up to Claire out of a meeting and asks for $200,000 in cash. She refuses, but the converstation switches from business to personal and Garza tells that he has the hotel room ready for their anniversary. However, Claire tells that Glenn, her boyfriend, asked her to marry him and she said yes. Garza tells her not to break his heart twice and Claire gives him the money. ..
