Pvt. Frank "Dim" Dumphy, played by Luke MacFarlane
Frank “Dim” Dumphy left his life as a new Cornell graduate, husband, and step-father to join the Army. At the age of 22, Dim shipped out to Iraq and his life changed instantly. Dim’s white collar background constantly clashes with the other soldiers who come from more modest backgrounds, and Dim has a hard time adjusting to his new surroundings.
While in combat, Dim is more willing than the rest of his unit to show his emotions. During mentally and emotionally tough missions, Dim has a hard time keeping it together and often loses his cool. Dim also lacks the street smarts needed to work well under pressure, but each day he gains the knowledge needed to make it in Iraq. |
