A federal agent's disappearance prompts a suburban investigation, which calls for Jane and Connor to pose as a happily married couple. The team becomes suspicious when the two lose themselves in their roles.
So far this is the only episode I've seen. I'm not impressed but will try to remember to watch another episode to see if it gets any better. Expectations are low. |

Probably because a lot of people don't like the show... you should see the amount of bashing going on at it's supposed 'official' website.

Seems there's a few people who vote highly on this but I don't think those ratings accurately reflect how good (or bad) the show/episodes are.
I had a look on there and I see Jimmy Palmiotti posts there. What happened in the last episode is almost enough for me to drop this. It doesn't seem like a show that can get renewed but it'll probably end up getting renewed. |

It has been renewed already and it's news that rubs salt in the wounds of the fans of the Dresden Files, a better quality show with a much larger fan base and a lot less detractors. |

I watched the first three episodes of The Dresden Files and I wasn't that impressed so I'm not surprised about its unknown fate. Did the chemistry between the two leads ever improve? I don't think either of the two shows should be renewed for another season to be honest... |

The series got much better as it progressed and the fan base is huge. It was a best seller on iTunes and the DVD's are doing very well on preorder. Plus it was # 3 in Sci-Fi's ratings, only getting slightly less viewers then Battlestar, an established show. The only reason the news of a second series is still unknown is because Canada's acting guild had a strike. The show is taped in Toronto.
The biggest reason PainkillerJane was renewed is because it is a Sci-Fi produced show. Lionsgate produces the Files, meaning it costs more money for Sci-Fi to air it. The strike just compounded the issue. |

Ah, I see. Seems a bit quick for a new show to get renewed when it's not even at its halfway point and a main cast member has been killed off. Well, good luck and hope The Dresden Files gets renewed for you. |
