The Booth Job - Recap

Julia and Joel are busy under the covers when Sydney's shrieks of terror
send Joel flying for the door. It was only a bad dream. She wants to
sleep in their bed. They agree to just one night. Sydney asks Julia why
she and daddy don't have any clothes on.

Jasmine and Crosby had a wonderful night, but now she needs to panic.
She needs to get Jabbar on the same level as the other kids his age. She
has to go back to New York, pack up the apartment, find a place to live
here and decide what she does for a living now that she's done touring.
Crosby suggest Sydney's school, and Jasmine says they never have any
openings. Crosby says he's going to talk to Julia.

Adam wants to join his boss at the 2011 Spring Shoe Show, but Gordon
turns him down. He then announces that the person he and Adam have
chosen to accompany him and run the booth is Sarah. The news is met with
very lukewarm applause.

Adam tells Kristina he's not going to let this bother him. He's going to
be happy for Sarah, she's going to do great at the retail show. Kristina
asks if Adam will be joining her at the Asperger's Support Group, and he
says no.

Amber performs a song, and Kelsey films it. They talk about starting a
band, but they can't because tonight is tutoring with Howard. Kelsey
suggests they smoke a little weed, but Amber says no.

Crosby talks to Julia about Sycamore, Sydney's school. Julia says it's
really good, but it wasn't even really easy for her to get Sydney in
there. She tells him not to bring his entire background in there, just
keep it really low-key. She tells him that he and Jasmine are nowhere
near as stable as they need to appear to be for this interview.

Most of the Bravermans are over at Zeek and Camille's. Joel and Julia
are talking about the fact that Sydney is in bed with them every night
now. Julia is ecstatic, and Joel is missing his time alone with his
wife. Adam says that Kristina is at the Asperger's Support Group.
Camille asks everyone to tell them a fun activity that they can do
together. They settle on ballroom dancing lessons. Zeek catches and
holds her eye as he tells his wife "Millie, I would love to dance with you."

At the meeting, Kristina hears that Melody is up against exactly what
she's up against, and tears up.

Amber is quizzing Sarah on all the people she'll be meeting at the shoe
show. She says she got all the information from Facebook. Amber asks for
$40 for tutoring, and Sarah questions if that's really what it's for.
This is the second time this week Amber has needed money for tutoring.
Amber then asks if they can't afford it, because if they can't, fine;
she'll study on her own. Sarah gives her the money and tells Amber she's
the best, to which she responds "I know."

Zeek and Camille are dancing. Zeek is good, but Millie appears to have
two left-feet and she's quite nervous. Zeek winds up with a male dance
partner. He says he's okay with the gays. Zeek tells Tony he'll be
leading. They do very well together. Millie and her partner are not
doing so well. When Zeek points out to Millie how good his new partner
is, her feelings are hurt.

It's another night, and Sydney is back in bed with Julia and Joel. Joel
gets up and leaves. Julia follows him, and he says he can't do this
anymore. He needs the downtime. He can't parent 24/7. Julia gets it, but
she tells him her side of it. Sydney calls out for her.

Kristina talks to Adam about the meeting. She tells him it's not scary,
and he says he doesn't think it's scary, he thinks it's stupid. He says
he only needs her, she can be his group. She tells him she's going to
keep going though.

Sarah arrives at the shoe show and meets up with Gordon.

Zeek and Adam talk about the marriage therapy sessions. Zeek says
they've been going for eight weeks, at $150/pop. Zeek tells Adam he
doesn't go to therapy for himself. He goes for Millie, because it makes
her happy.

Sarah hits it off with everybody at the shoe show. She fills Gordon in
on whatever he needs to know, and he's a huge hit. They share a toast.
Mike shows up, and Sarah introduces Gordon to him. Mike asks if he and
Sarah are still on for later in the week, and she promises to call him.

Kelsey and the tutor are getting stoned, and Amber is pissed. She
doesn't have $40 to throw away on them getting stoned, she needs her
tutoring. Howard tells her she did well today.

Jasmine and Crosby are waiting to get interviewed. He says they need to
bring their A game, and gets his-and-hers wedding bands out of his
pocket, borrowed from Julia and Joel. He says the couple inside is
completely normal, and THAT'S what they are up against. Jasmine refuses,
saying they bring enough to the table. When the other couple comes out,
it's obvious that they totally hit it off with the principal. The
principal gets Crosby's last name wrong, and asks for two minutes. They
put the rings on.

The meeting with the principal starts slow, but as he discovers what
caliber of people Jasmine and Crosby are, he warms up to them. He's
especially interested in Crosby's music studio, and what having access
to it can do for the school.

Zeek is dancing at home and hoping Millie will join him. She's really
upset about him spending all his time with Tony. She tells him she
quits, so now he's off the hook.

Kelsey comes over to find out why Amber got so angry. She thinks Amber
is jealous because she and Howard are hitting it off. Amber sets her
straight. She doesn't have that kind of money to throw away for tutoring
if there is not actually going to be any tutoring taking place. Kelsey
says she didn't even think about that. They're going to study hard from
now on, and ace those SAT's.

Max is looking for mom, because he finished his homework and wants his
sticker. He wants to know what kind of group mom went to, and Adam tells
him they play cards. He asks if they play Go Fish, because that's his
favorite.

Sarah thanks Gordon. It was an amazing day, and he'll never forget it.
He thanks her for all her hard work. Today was a gift for her, tomorrow
she'll go back to being an intern/bartender. He tells her she has no
idea how great she is, and he doesn't get to meet a lot of girls like
her. He kisses her, and it's amazing - and mutual.

Adam shows up for the meeting, and Kristina introduces him. He shares a
little bit about what happened before he left home. Adam couldn't tell
Max where Kristina was, because Max doesn't know he has Asperger's.
Adam dreads the day he has to tell him that he does.

Jasmine and Crosby have drinks and discuss how the meeting went. It
looks like Crosby is going to propose, but he just tells Jasmine how
awesome she is. She tells him he is, too. She gives him the ring to
relay back to Julia.

Joel is asleep on Sydney's bed. She says she's going in Julia's bed, but
Julia tells her a story about the love bubble, and daddy got pushed out
of the love bubble, and he misses the mommy. So if Sydney could sleep in
her own bed, then daddy could come back in the love bubble and be happy.
Sydney agrees.

Zeek comes out and tells Millie her painting is beautiful. It looks sad,
and he asks if that's how she feels. She says yes. He tells her he loves
her, and always will. They kiss.

Adam and Kristina play Go Fish with Max. He asks how the meeting was,
and Adam tells him it was good.
