Seven strangers wake up in a seemingly empty small town where they are under constant electronic surveillance. Implants keep them from leaving the town borders, and they have no choice but to figure out why they were abducted and what ties them together. Meanwhile, a reporter tries to locate one of the missing persons.
Moira removes the biometric implants, but the prisoners discover that there are other means of imprisonment. Meanwhile, Janet considers the price of freedom, Moira and Victoria bond, and in the outside world, Mark reaches a painful dead end to his story.
After their efforts to tunnel out fail, the prisoners get a surprise when a helicopter appears. However, it drops a large box and departs. Inside, the prisoners find three gas masks for the seven of them. Tensions among the group begin to grow as they which of them will get the gas masks. Meanwhile, Renbe pursues his investigation into Janet's disappearance.
The prisoners are informed that one of them will be allowed to leave, and they can take someone with them. Bill tries to blackmail Charlie, and Victoria tries to seduce the Night Manager. Meanwhile, Renbe continues his investigation of Janet, but his associates learn of his true connection to her.
One prisoner departs and another one arrives. Meanwhile, Renbe realizes that there is more behind Janet's disappearance than a simple abduction, and meets with his daughter.
Joe considers telling Janet the truth, but is suddenly stricken with a slow-acting poison. Erika finds an antidote but demands the truth from him first. Meanwhile, Renbe and Kat travel to Rome in search of answers and find Stefano, Victoria' lover, who has some answers for them.
Tom faces a difficult decision when Joe tells his fellow captives everything he knows about the town and their abductions. Meanwhile, an unlikely source tells Kat and Renbe about the program's one survivor and where they can find her.
Joe undergoes re-education at the hands of his former masters, and is forced to relive his past. Meanwhile, Moira is conflicted about what she knows of Graham, Bill confronts his own uselessness, and Kat and Renbe find a Program survivor.
A re-educated Joe returns to the town, but suffers from amnesia and fits of berserk anger. The prisoners are divided on whether to kill him or leave him be. Meanwhile, Mark is arrested and Kat and Father Luis bail him out of jail. However, when they try to leave the country, they make a startling discovery.
Liam Ulrich arrives and introduces himself as the new manager, and informs the guests that they are to be confined to the hotel for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, Janet tries to deal with the revelations about Joe's past, and Renbe and Kat explore the South American town and make a grisly discovery.
Janet flirts with Ulrich to try and engineer her escape. Meanwhile, Bill and Charlie have a falling out, Moira and Graham become closer, and Renbe is arrested for the murder of his ex-wife, Janet.
The seven captives discover that all of the supplies have disappeared, but their captors have left them six body bags. Joe and Ulrich explain that they are expected to fight among themselves, and only one will survive. Meanwhile, Kat and Renbe discover another Program survivor, who insists that he was never a captive and claims to have no idea what they're talking about. And Ulrich lets his feelings overwhelm him and loses his head over Janet.
The captives make good their escape but discover that there is ultimately no escape.
