Pete Versus Life is a comedy drama series which follows the life of struggling young sports journalist Pete Griffiths. Pete finds himself lacking the emotional maturity of life needed to deal with life's more intricate problems and he often ends up wishing that life had clearly defined rules like those used in sport. As he lives his life it is analysed and discussed by two sports commentators.

Pete's new girlfriend called Tilly believes that UFOs are of alien origin. Things are going well until Pete finds out that Chloe, 'the girl that got away', is going out with Jake. Pete begins to teach children football and his self- esteem ends up taking a further knock when Zac, Jake's 12-year-old nephew turns out to be a much better player than him. Pete decides to try and make one last grand gesture to try and win Chloe back.
