Episode Notes |
| |
Agatha Christie dedicated two books to her terrier, Peter - one appeared in Dumb Witness and read as follows: To Dear Peter, most faithful of friends and dearest of companions, a dog in a thousand. The other dedication was in The Mystery Of The Blue Train when Mrs. Christie was going through a very difficult period in her life, with the end of her marriage to Archie Christie and the death of her mother occurring at around about the same time. This time the dedication was to her faithful Private Secretary Carlotta and also to the terrier Peter. It read as follows: To the two distinguished members of the OFD, Carlotta and Peter. 'OFD' in this instance stood for 'The Order of Faithful Dogs'. |
