Ash and co. have finally found Kurt, the man they have been searching for. At Kurt's house, Mazie, Kurt's granddaughter, thanks Ash and co. for saving the town and her grandfather. Kurt sincerely thanks them, too. Ash tells Kurt that he has something for him, and that they were sent by Professor Oak. Mazie asks Kurt who Professor Oak is. Kurt tells her that he is the greatest Pokémon researcher in the world. Ash hands the GS Ball over to Kurt. Ash and co. are excited to hear what the GS Ball is, and Kurt says that it's some kind of Pokéball. They sigh over the fact that Kurt doesn't know much already. Kurt reassures them that he will know more once he has a closer examination...
