Recap

Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu arrive in a new city and head towards the Pokémon Center. There they encounter a group of children who tell them about the newest fad. Pokémon Fortune Telling, an activity similar to horoscopes in which people are assigned a Pokémon personality type based on their birthdate. Eager to find out her Pokémon type Misty drags her companions along to a local daycare that has been giving out copies of the Fortune Telling book. Arriving at the daycare the owners explain to Misty that it's considered good luck to own the Pokémon that corresponds to your personality type. The daycare center has a booming business in matching trainers with their Pokémon type and frequently holds Pokémon for trainers until a suitable trade can be made. ..

Episode Notes
Cartoon Network Air Date: September 13, 2004

The Pokémon Fortune Telling book says that Ash is a Bellsprout personality, Brock is an Onix, and Misty is a Gyrados, Jessie is an Eevee, and James is a Moltres.

The only episode where James does NOT let Victreebell bite him.

Butch and Cassidy make a 3rd comeback before heading off to the jailhouse!

This is actually the finale for the Johto Journey episodes. "Forest Gumps" and "The Psychic Sidekicks!" come before this.

The fortune book said that Misty's personality was a Gyrados and if she owned this Pokémon this it was truly her personality. Ironically, in "Cerulean Blue" (A Chronicles episode) Misty captures a Gyrados.

This would be the second time that Butch and Cassidy took over a Breeding Center.

This episode, along with Beauty and the Beach and The Psychic Sidekicks, has so far not been released on DVD.

This episode contains one of the few occasions when a character other than Cassidy gets Butch's name right straight away - Brock identifies him correctly when they discover the Center was a fake.

In other languages
French: La chasse au trésor
Italian: Il libro
Latin American Spanish: ¡Cazadores de fortuna!
Spanish: Cazadores de fortuna

Episode Goofs
The scene when Misty is complaining about her fortune(at a far away angle), while she's walking with Ash and Brock, you could see that Brock's mouth is still moving. He was talking about something with Misty. Probably 4Kids didn't see that coming.
