Ant and Dec present the first episode of the new series. Open auditions are held all over the country. Warren doesn’t get quite the reaction he was expecting from the judges after his rendition of ‘Eye Of The Tiger’. Chris impresses Pete but Simon is not so keen but Chris still makes it through to the next round. Not everyone else is so lucky and many hopes are dashed by the judges comments.

It’s the second of the open audition shows and Ant and Dec are on hand to speak to the hopefuls. Michelle impresses Simon but Pete has concerns about her weight. All the judges are impressed by Craig and he makes it through to the next round.

Ant and Dec present the third of the open audition shows. Pete is not impressed when a joker sings a nursery rhyme and he leaves the audition room in disgust. After a cooling off period Pete returns. Ashley who isn't happy when the judges refuse to put her through. Many more singers get their hopes dashed by the judges.

It’s the final of the open audition shows. Andy Lee Scott manages to impress the judges. More hopes are dashed by the judges. The final performer manages to impress the judges and makes it through to the next stage.

43 :02x05 - Series 2 - The Final 100 Auditions (Sep/06/2003)
Ant and Dec present the second phase of the competition. 100 singers must be cut down to 50 by the end of the weekend. Gareth Gates' sister is a casualty at the end of the first day along with another 24 hopefuls. By the end of day two 75 must become 50. The remaining singers are put into groups of 3 to perform a song of the judges choice. At the end of the second day the final 50 singers are revealed.

Ant and Dec return later in the evening with the results. Mark and Michelle learn that over 10 million votes have been cast. Michelle then learns that she has been voted the winner. Michelle performs her new single All This Time and is joined on stage as she sings by all the other finalists. Once she has finished singing everyone hugs her.
