Hannah had received a text from someone anonymously asking her to meet them out in the darkened parking lot. She walked out, looking for the person when she was approached by a car with bright headlights, picking up speed and hitting her head on. The girls watching screamed out Hannah's name as she bounced off he hood and then the windshield. coming to rest on the cold hard ground as the car sped off into the night without stopping. The girls ran to her, calling out her name and crouched round the unconscious Hannah as one of them called for an ambulance and help. The girls asked one another if they had seen who had been driving, who the car might have belonged to, etc. They knew about the text because Hannah had informed them about it, but nothing else. Hannah's mother, Mrs. Meredith, was called and she raced to the scene, asking if the girls were fit to drive to the hospital. When they said that they were, she said she would meet them there...
