The Devil You Know - Recap

With the information that Ian had committed suicide after living with having killed Allison, the crew goes to Ian's funeral. Emily is suspicious and doesn't believe that Ian really killed Allison, or himself for that matter. Garrett told Emily how long Ian had actually been dead and it had been for a week. Due to this she learns that Melissa was getting texts from someone that was pretending to be Ian.

Ian doesn't have any family, so Spencer gets her parents to help give him a proper funeral. All of the adults pretty much believe that Ian killed himself, as well as his confession. Emily even sees the person that dropped off ransom money. She told Garrett about it and then he paid the guy to not say tell anyone anything, except the part where he admitted that the one who paid him to bring the money to them was female.

Mike gets caught breaking into Jason's house and he admits to having broken into all of the houses that have had this problem in the area. He also is the same one that broke into Spencer's house, which means he is the one who pushed his sister.

Jason tells Aria that he is really relieved that Ian admitted to killing Allison. He says that he thought he did it, because he wasn't sober and blacked out. He did wake up with a piece of paper in his pocket. This piece of paper said "I know what you did".

Emily does some digging and she notices that the note left was a mixture of various "A" texts. This means that Ian didn't really kill her. Spencer is at home and she is looking for a knock off version of the ring she stole from Melissa to pawn off. She wanted to tell her about, but Melissa came in to apologize about choosing sides and picking Ian's. She really did not think he was a murderer. She also wanted to tell her something, to confess something. A cell phone rings and it turns out to be Ian's phone. Melissa flips out thinking that it was her sister the whole time pretending to be Ian.

Emily gets a text and it is from "A". She has set up some sort of scavenger hunt in the graveyard. When they get to Allison's grave, a projector ends up playing an old tape of Allison and Ian. It was a sex tape. She did not die at his hands
