Blood is the New Black - Recap

The episode begins in class with Ella telling her students to take notes. Emily in class fishes out a necklace from her bag that says “dead girls can’t smile”. She is horrified to see it, and runs out of the class in panic. Aria, Spencer and Hanna follow her. Outside she shows them the necklace, and they too are disgusted, as there are teeth attached to the necklace. Hanna asks Emily if she can recollect something else from the night that Alison’s body disappeared. Meanwhile the necklace suddenly slips from their hands and falls into the commode and gets flushed away. Later Aria tells the girls that they could have found out who send the necklace, as there were fingerprints on it.

Spencer tells Hanna to go back to Mona so she can find something, and Spencer also tells them that she plans to go back to Garrett to find out all she can from him. It is then decided that Hanna would go to meet Mona after school. Later, Hanna tells Caleb that she wouldn’t be able to meet him after school, as she has something important that she needs to do with her mom. Aria meanwhile tells Emily to take Ezra’s help for her English lessons. Just then Aria is shocked to see Meredith in the school hall talking to the principal. Meredith is the woman Aria’s father is having an affair with. Aria confronts Meredith and she tells Aria that she is applying for a teaching position. Later, Aria tells Ezra to help Emily. Garrett in the meanwhile tells Spencer that he wants her mom to defend him, and in return he will reveal everything.

Spencer in turn tells Garrett that, no one in town believes he is innocent. Garrett then tells Spencer that someone she knows very well is lying, and then he talks about some medical reports, before he is hauled away. Hanna meanwhile asks Mona if anyone is ever going to visit Mona besides her. Hanna then loses it and tells Mona that, she owes her for trying to mow her down. Hanna is then told by the doctor to immediately leave. In frustration, Hanna leaves behind her visitor pass in Mona’s room, completely forgetting about it. Emily in the meanwhile meets Ezra. Ezra tells Emily how sorry he is about Maya. Meanwhile the doctor tells Hanna that his dad too was in the nuthouse, hence he knows how Hanna is feeling at the moment. Toby and Spencer are in the meanwhile busy making out.

Just then Spencer’s mother comes in, but the two gather their act before she comes in. Aria and the girls meanwhile find an earring in Aria’s locker, and Aria is reminded of the time she and Alison were snooping around in Aria’s father’s office, and Alison had found this very earring in his office, along with it pair. Aria was shocked to know that her father had lied to her about having ended his relationship with Meredith. Aria and Alison had then proceeded to vandalize Aria’s father’s office. Back in the present Aria tells the girls that she had made Alison promise that she would never tell a soul, about what they had done. Aria also tells the girls that she had put the earring in Alison’s casket, as a keepsake. Later Jenna tells Aria to come over to her place tomorrow night. Aria excuses herself by telling Jenna that, she has to do something with her dad.

Spencer’s mother meanwhile questions Spencer about her visits to the county jail. Spencer tells her mother that Emily is really hurting and she just wanted some answers. Her mother tells Spencer that Garrett is a dangerous man, and he wouldn’t be locked up if there wasn’t damaging evidence against him. She prohibits Spencer from ever going to meet Garrett again. Hanna meanwhile tells Caleb about her visits to Mona, and he offers to drive her there the next time. Aria meanwhile all alone at home while checking out the earring, receives a text from A saying “Daddy needs to know. Or I let the other one go. To the Police”. Later, Aria tells her father how she had trashed his office, a couple of years ago. Turns out Meredith got the blame for it. Aria’s father tells her that they both owe Meredith an apology, and he isn’t going to do it on Aria’s behalf.

Caleb meanwhile accompanies Hanna for her visit to Mona. Toby meanwhile tells Spencer that, Jenna can possibly see. Emily meanwhile is giving her English test, just then she sees a girl sitting in front of her tie her hair, and is reminded of a girl sitting in the car that night, who was trying her hair in a similar fashion. Emily is visibly disturbed by this. Then in flashes, she somewhat recollects the face of the girl who drove her to the graveyard that night. Meanwhile Aria apologizes to Meredith, and Meredith tells her that she has already spoken to Aria’s father about the whole trashing the office issue. Meredith then tells Aria that she is seeing her father for lunch the next day. She then gives Meredith the earring thinking it’s her, but Meredith tells her that it doesn’t belong to her.

Spencer meanwhile visits jail to meet Garret, and while she is waiting for him, she hears her mother enter, and ask for the visitor’s log. Her mother is told that the log would be handed over to her the next day; Spencer’s mother, then much to her relief, leaves. Dr. Kingston in the meanwhile introduces himself to Caleb. The doctor tells Caleb how Hanna has been talking to him about her issues. Spencer meanwhile is shocked to know that, her mother is Garrett’s lawyer now. Garrett tells Spencer that he can’t reveal anything to her. Mona meanwhile shocks Hanna, by asking her if they are all still getting the texts. Just then Caleb comes in and tells Hanna that the visiting hours are over, Mona in the meanwhile goes back to being silent. After Hanna leaves, Mona starts poking herself with a pair of tweezers she has flicked from Hanna’s purse.

Ella meanwhile tells Ezra that Emily did very well on her test. Hanna meanwhile tells the girls what Mona said. Spencer tells Hanna that, she needs to go back and talk to Mona again. Emily meanwhile tells them that Jenna can see and is probably on Mona’s payroll. Hanna in turn tells her that Mona doesn’t have any cash. They then see Jenna coming towards them, and hide in the washroom. Spencer then asks Aria to give her the earring. She then places the earring near the wash basin, and tells the girls to hide in the stalls. They are all then shocked to see Jenna pick up the earring and check it out. Jenna then keeps back the earring where she found it, and heads out of the washroom.

Spencer tells the girls to not let Jenna know that they know, as they can use this to their advantage. Meanwhile a person wearing a hooded shirt is seen buying gloves and a few hoodies from a shop, the shopkeeper asks “you buying all this for a team?” The episode ends at this point.
