The scene opens and Mason blows away Cooper in spelling battle as the kid preps for a big bee; he is preparing really hard from the look of things, and seems really good with his spellings. It's troubling how bad Coop is when it comes to spellings though, but Amelia is more concerned about the fact that Erica can't seem to grasp a glass; which in itself is a worrying sign, and something which she presumes can really be good. She wants to do some tests as she wants to confirm her apprehensions, but Erica puts the kibosh on that idea, as she doesn’t want her family to know. Amelia though is really worried, and purses this matter further...
