The working title for the episode was "In Which We Meet Addison...".

Special Guest Star James Pickens, Jr. (Richard Webber) guest stars as the same character he plays on Grey's Anatomy, the show from which this series was spun-off.

Addison: How are you doing there, Pete?
Pete: Kicking ass and taking names. You?
Addison: Ass kicking and name taking are on my resume.

Addison: I need to be in a hospital. There is no way I can perform the C-section here. It's not sterile. I don't have any surgical equipment. No extra blood. And an epidural would take way too long to take effect --
Pete: Addison! Addison, she is a completely healthy seventeen year old. No one could have foreseen this complication.
Addison: What happens to a person when a scalpel slices into them without anesthesia --
Pete: Addison!
Addison: Shut up! I am trying to talk myself into this and I cannot do it when you keep Addison-ing me. So, just hold on.

Pete: Stop. Stop. She's short of breath through JBD.
Addison: I thought easten medicine was your thing.
Pete: I have a lot of things. She's short of breath through JBD. Now, do you wanan double check, or are you gonna trust me?

Dell: You know, I -- I -- I could help. You know, with Lucy.
Addison: I'm good.
Dell: You don't take me seriously.
Addison: What?
Dell: You think I'm dumb surfer boy. You think I'm eye-candy. You have no respect for me or my mid-wifery skills.
Addison: I have total respect for you and your mid-wifery skills. Is that even a word: mid-wifery?
Dell: It's a word. It's definitely a word.

Violet: We're a team. We're partners, Naomi.
Sam: You can't just bring somebody in.
Pete: Without asking us.
Cooper: Yeah.
Sam: We're a democracy. We vote.
Violet: Yeah. We vote, or it doesn't happen.
Naomi: You're right, we should've voted. I was wrong.
Violet: Good. Okay, let's vote.
Addison: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on a minute. Uh, I have been working here less than 24 hours, and in that time I have discovered that I am not welcomed here. And I learned that I am the one man gynie show and I performed crazy McGiver surgery. And Sam saw my booty. So, this has not been a great day for me. This day kinda sucked. But, you know what? I had one patient. One patient, the entire day, and I loved it. So you want me gone? Too bad. I'm in! I'm putting my foot down, my foot's down, it's down. I'm not going anywhere. So, yeah. I thought I -- I thought I had a big finish. But I don't so ... I'm done. (long pause) No, no, I do have a big finish. If I hadn't been here today, if you had someone else that girl would have died delivering her baby. I saved her life. I saved your asses! I'm a world class, neo-natal surgeon and I'm here to stay. Welcome to the new Oceanside Wellness. (walks out)
Naomi: That's why I didn't tell you that she was coming.

Addison: I didn't come down here because you kissed me.
Pete: Okay.
Addison: I didn't.
Pete: Okay.
Addison: I need you to say it.
Pete: You did not move down here because I kissed you. (Addison walks away) You so moved down here because I kissed you.
Addison: I heard that!

Addison: I just did my crazy MacGyver surgery.

Addison is referring to the 1980s series MacGyver in which the title character often uses obscure items in order to solve a problem.
