Episode Notes
This leap is to four days before Sam's birth on August 8, 1953.

The title of this episode is taken from the 1964 film The Americanization of Emily starring James Garner and Julie Andrews.

Patrick Massett (Rusty) would later play Ralph Beaumont in "A Single Drop of Rain - September 7, 1953".

K Callan (Lenore MacKenzie) and Leila Hee Olsen (Machiko MacKenzie) would later appear in the Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman episode "Chi of Steel" together. They played Martha Kent and Lin Chow respectively.
