Unseen - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
In the aftermath of his mom evicting him from the house, Sock takes up residence after hours at the Work bench, living in a tent in Home & Garden and using the sprinklers to shower. It doesn't go well. He finally calls Sam for consolation, but Sam has has discovered that Cady snores. A lot. She wakes up and apologizes, and he invites her to go bowling with the guys. As they play, Sam notices that Cady's bowling ball seems to move on its own to make a strike.

Later at the Work Bench, Ted calls a team meeting to get everyone worked up about fighting against shoplifters, unaware that it's Sock who is stealing supplies. Sam makes the mistake of showing a vague interest and Ted fixates on him to assist. Sock invites Ben and Sam to see his new apartment, but they figure out it's too expensive for him. Sock reveals that he wants them to move in with him and split the rent three ways. Sock convinces them to sign the contract and goes home with Sam to convince the Olivers it's a good idea. They eventually give in and Sam starts to pack. The Devil teleports him to a playground and Sam gets mad, insisting the Devil treat him like an adult. The Devil chuckles and gives Sam the file on Herbert Scrim, an escaped soul who now hunts anyone he finds in the woods. The Devil mentions that no one has ever seen Scrim, but that Sam shouldn't have any trouble finding him and refuses to give him any more info. He figures Sam is now "adult" enough to handle it on his own.

Josie takes Andi with her to the new apartment to figure out what the guys are up to. Andi talks with Sam who ends up revealing that he hasn't told Cady about the move. Josie and Andi go to the bar where Josie tells her friend that she should tell Sam about Cady's visit where she talked about slicing up her rival's tires in high school. Andi doesn't want to, thinking Sam will think she's jealous. Josie tells her that if she does have feelings for Sam, she'd better tell him about them.

The guys are at the apartment and catch a news broadcast about a murder in the park. They also find their first housewarming gift: a Magic Bullet vessel from the Devil. Sam tries it out and the blade goes spinning across the kitchen on its own.

The next day, Sam is cleaning the front doors at the Work Bench when Cady comes in and wants to know why he didn't tell her about moving. Sam doesn't have a good answer and Cady offers him a kiss. As they do, the glass door first cracks and then shatters. Sam wonders again if she is the Devil's daughter. He mentions it to Sock and Ben who are convinced that Cady is fine. They hook up their new game system but the power goes out and they visit the gay couple next door, Steve and Tony, to get help. The couple are happy to help and invite them to dinner the next night.

The guys go into the woods and end up discovering the corpse of Scrim's most recent victim. They go back to the Work Bench and figure out what to do next, and decide to try and lure Scrim out by pretending to be joggers. Sam ducks Cady's calls, nervous about her father. They find another of Scrim's victims in the woods and Sock ends up caught in a snare. Scrim attacks them, and it turns out that he is invisible. He chokes Sam while Sock tries to get the vessel to work without success. A woman is walking by with her dogs and they chase off Scrim.

Now that they know what they're up against, the guys "borrow" paintball guns from the Work Bench, but Ted drags Sam off to install the security cameras. The Devil teleports Sam to an elementary school classroom and gives him a hard time, trying to make Sam ask for his help. He even offers a pair of glasses that let Sam detect evil, but Sam turns them down. Meanwhile, Cady drops in to visit Andi and ask if anything's going on between her and Sam. Andi denies it and Cady starts acting jealous.

The guys meet with Tony and Steve for dinner and the couple talk about their charity work. Sam notices that they have power tools, and the couple claim they use them for working around the house. They also have security cameras all over the place.

The trio head into the woods and discover that there's a charity run going through the forest. Sock holds them off by getting them to (literally) hug the trees while Sam and Ben set up the Work Bench security monitors to detect Scrim. Scrim attacks them and they hit him with the paintballs, but he starts strangling Sam and they realize that Sock has the vessel. He comes to help them and gets the vessel to Sam, who releases its blade and captures Scrim's soul.

The guys head back to the store where Andi tries to warn Cady that she's acting jealous: he agrees to keep it in mind. Sam returns to the apartment to find the Devil waiting for him, supposedly concerned about his welfare. The Devil agrees to answer one question truthfully: is Cady his daughter? He says she isn't and even if she was, it shouldn't make a difference to Sam if he loves her. He then gives Sam the evil-detection glasses as a gift. Sam goes to meet Cady and uses the glasses. Determining that she's evil-free, he tries to apologize but she asks for some time off and leaves for Arizona to see her mom.

Back at their apartment, Ben and Sock are playing games and talking about how great it is to have a gay couple next door to cook and clean their clothes. Sam comes back and goes to get a shirt from the neighbors. He quietly comes in and notices that Tony and Steve are in the bathroom... sanding down their horns with the power tools.
