The guys are at the Work Bench, with Sam trying to call Cady and Ben and Sock worried about the fact that they have demons Tony and Steve living next door. After spraying Ted's chair down with slippery stain remover, Andi congratulates them then talks to Sam and private and admits her warning about Cady wasn't just from a friend, but from someone with deep feelings for Sam. Andi backs away before they can get any closer.
Back at their condo, Steve and Tony come by with muffins and ask why the guys have been ducking them. The guys stammer through some excuses and finally Sam has to say they need time away to figure things out. Steve and Tony don't take it well and storm out before they "do something they'll regret." The guys are worried about exactly what that means. Back at work, Sam finally tells Ben and Sock that Andi told him her feelings and they tell him to go for it. Andi ends up apologizing to Sam for putting him in an awkward position, but Sam refuses to figure out anything with her until he resolves the situation with Cady. Going back to work, he finds a crate with 666 on it. Opening it, he finds the new vessel: a bottle of bubble blowing fluid. The Devil then teleports him to a photoshoot and reveals the acid-burned victim of the newest escaped soul, Nikki Manders. Nikki died in prison and upon coming back, is coming after the model who beat her out for a job when she was alive.
Thanks to Sock's fashion expertise, the guys figure out they need to go to a magazine where they find a fellow geek working there. Pumping the guy, Kendell, for information, they find out that Nicole was there and had a rivalry with Angela, a writer and model. He directs them to the Crush Lounge where Angela hangs out. Sock and Ben attack the bouncer so Sam can get inside. He spots Nikki who makes her escape by burning through an outside door using her acid touch.
The next day, Tony and Steve end up running into Sam at the Work Bench and demand that he tell them what's going on. He finally admits that he knows they're demons, but they already know he's a reaper. They accuse him of being a racist and defend themselves as working to help humans on Earth. Sam doesn't believe them and wonders if they've eaten anyone. They get mad and leave.
Using a mannequin, the guys set a trap for Nikki at the fashion magazine after hours. When she arrives, they try to capture her but Sam isn't good at blowing bubbles and Nikki makes her escape. Ben and Sock drop Sam off in front of the condo where Nikki corners him and prepares to kill him. However, a winged demon flies through the roof and drives her off... then reveals he's Steve, who leaves without giving Sam a chance to thank him.
Sam tracks him down at a gay bar only to find the Devil there. The Devil tells Sam to stay away from the couple, who he claims are just small-minded bureaucrats. Sam finds Steve and tries to apologize without much luck, until he mentions that the Devil talked to him. Steve is intrigued, since the Devil doesn't talk to anyone. Steve finally accepts Sam's apology and notes that Tony is working as a publicist to set up a party for the twenty most beautiful women in Seattle. Sam asks Steve to have Tony get them tickets, figuring the party is Nikki's next target.
Tony stops by the Work Bench to drop off the tickets and Andi overhears them, and wonders what's going on since it's the night she and Sam were going to get together. Tony quickly covers, giving her a ticket and saying Sam was going to take her to the party. The guys get to the party first that night and Sock and Ben look for Nikki and hit on models, while Sam greets Andi and they finally share a kiss.
They're interrupted when Cady finally returns Sam's calls. Upset, Andi leaves but Nikki follows her and Sam notices. Outside, Nikki moves in to kill Andi but Sam, Sock, and Ben steal a car from the valet station and pick Andi up. However, Nikki throws acid into the windshield and the car rolls over. Sam gets out and manages to use the vessel to capture Nikki.
The EMTs take Andi to the hospital while Sam tries to apologize to Sock and Ben for getting them hurt. They say that they know the dangers and are okay with it. Later at the hospital, Sam runs into the Devil in the waiting room and is warned that his friends are fair game whether he likes it or not. Sam refuses to accept that and goes to see Andi. She wants to know who attacked them but he says she's hallucinating from the concussion and then says he has to leave, that he doesn't want to endanger her. Sam leaves the hospital, alone. Back at the condo, Steve calls him into the couple's apartment and into a secret room that he say is shielded against anyone hearing them: even the Devil. Steve points out that there must be something special about Sam, since the Devil doesn't open up to anyone. He notes that each of them fights the Devil in their own way, and they're left to wonder...
