Sock convinces Sam to take his Caddy on his parking date with Andi to make it something special. They end up kissing but Andi is more interested in talking about all of Sam’s triumphs as a Reaper. They’re interrupted when… someone appears outside the car. Sam turns on the headlights and sees a masked chainsaw wielding figure out front. Sam manages to start the Caddy and get out s the guy tries to cut through the sides and windows.
The next day, Sock is happy that Sam survived: the Caddy protected him where his hybrid wouldn’t have. Everyone tries to figure out what’s going on and Sam notes the Devil hasn’t warned him about any escaped souls with chainsaws. Sara stops by to remind Ben to make the bed, even though he isn’t sleeping in it with her. Sock wants to get payment for his wrecked car, so he and Sam go to the DMV and try to file a repair voucher with Gladys. Gladys says there’s no vessel for them but lets them look through Hell’s Most Wanted. However, since the killer had a mask the photos aren’t much help. She sends them off and they head back to the Work Bench where they see Greg talking to Andi. Ben shows them a photo of the killer: he’s a movie monster from the
Killsaw series. Andi comes over and says that Greg has a family crisis, and has invited her to coffee that night. Sam doesn’t want to seem jealous or controlling and says he’s fine with it. She promises to call at 9 that night.
At the hospital, Ben gets together with Cassidy for a lunch date. She points out it’s the fifth date in a row at the hospital cafeteria and wonders why they don’t date publicly. She asks about the wedding ring he’s wearing and he admits he has a green card marriage with Sara. She points out he’s asking her to be his mistress, and she agrees as long as they go somewhere new and public.
That night, it’s 9:07 and a nervous Sam can’t get hold of Andi. He goes to the refrigerator and ends up teleported to a quiet suburban home. The Devil comes walking along and gives Sam a knife as a present, even though it isn’t a vessel. The Devil claims not to know anything about a guy with a chain saw and figures it’s just some crazy. He takes Sam into the house while talking about dishonesty… then disappears as Sam finds himself looking at Andi and Greg kissing. Sam leaves and Andi chases after him, saying she has no idea why she was kissing Greg or how she got there. They leave, as Greg watches from the window.
The next day, Sock and Ben figure Sam did something to drive Andi’s, probably by being too sensitive. In the staff meeting, Ted has Sara make an announcement: she’s pregnant with Ben’s child. Afterward, Ben confronts her and she explains the father is her boyfriend Esteban, who is part of the Circus de Soleil and married. Ben admits he’s happy, because he is seeing someone too. However, Sara still forbids him from seeing her as it will expose their marriage as a fraud to immigration. She appeals to Ben to keep his commitment.
Greg shows up to talk to Andi and although she doesn’t want to , he suggests they go get coffee and she immediately agrees. Later, as the guys arrive at their condo’s parking garage, the chainsaw killer attacks them again and Sock drives away, knocking him off the roof.
The guys head to the bar and the Devil teleports Sam to a rooftop. He still claims not to know anything about the killer, then directs Sam to a telescope that shows Andi with Greg in the park. The telescope transforms into a rifle and the Devil suggests that Sam kill Greg. Sam figures the Devil is involved, and the latter explains he bought Greg’s soul in return for mind control abilities. However, the Devil warns that things aren’t what they appear to be and Sam could get Andi back. He notes that if Sam kills Greg then it voids the spell and they both win. Sam refuses and confronts Greg and Andi at the Work Bench. Greg has Andi break up with Sam, who points out Greg has sold his soul to the Devil so he can make Andi like him. Greg simply convinces Andi to only care about him.
Sock’s impressed with Greg’s wherewithal but Sam has a plan: he and Sam go to see Gladys and get a vessel. She doesn’t respond to Sam’s threats, but she notes that bribes are good. She needs someone to watch her cat and in return she takes them to a mini storage facility where she knows a demon named Dennis who can provide him with a vessel. They mention Greg’s deal and Dennis notes that the Devil has no dominion over the human heart and can’t undo true love. Dennis then brings out a special vessel: a Nerf gun that sends anything to Hell.
Despite Sara’s earlier objections, Ben meets with Cassidy for their “affair” but informs her that Sara is pregnant and this will have to be their first and last nondate. He’s afraid of Sara, and insists on abiding by the arrangement.
Sam explains his new plan to Sock: he’s figured Greg can’t stop Andi from loving Sam. Sock is skeptical, noting that Andi has never said she loves Sam. Sam confronts Andi ion the back of the Work Bench and asks her right out if she loves him. She admits she does and Sam tells her to avoid Greg at all costs. He suggests they move to Buffalo but Andi gets a call from Greg and obligingly explains that Sam is there and they’re planning to run away. On the other end, Greg clearly gets angry and the chainsaw killer appears. He goes for Andi and Sam knocks him aside and they hide beneath some shelves. Sam sneezes from Greg’s cologne and realizes the connection. He gets Andi to safety through a ventilator shaft then trips and the Devil offers him a hand up… and teleport him to a bar. He explains that the killer is Greg’s pent-up rage, figuring Greg doesn’t know about it. The Devil’s proud of his work: Andi will still love Sam even if she stays with Greg, and Greg’s rage will eventually destroy her. The Devil notes that the only way Sam can save himself and Andi is to kill Greg.
Sam, Ben, and Sock go to Greg’s house with a borrowed shotgun and plastic sheeting. The shotgun shells Ben borrowed don’t fit and Sam figures the Devil is trying to corrupt him. Greg sees them and invites them in, and tells Sam to walk away. Sam points out that the Devil isn’t on anyone’s side and there’s always a catch: this time, Andi still loves Sam. Greg loses it as he realizes they’ll never be happy together, and he screwed things up. He passes out and his body floats into the air, and then the chainsaw killer emerges from his body. The guys knock him down, grab Greg, and lock themselves in the bedroom. As the chainsaw killer starts to cut through the door, Sam tries to get Greg to calm down and Ben tells him that everyone makes mistakes and if he gets out of it, Ben plans to be with the woman of his dreams. When that doesn’t work, Sam knocks Greg out and the chainsaw killer disappears.
In the hospital, Greg apologizes but is calm due to the morphine. Sam warns there’s no way to get out of a deal with the Devil. Andi comes in and is concerned about Greg.. but more concerned about Sam. Greg asks for a moment alone with Sam and warns that he’s getting angry again and things will just start all over again. He admits he only ended up with one night of heavy petting, and now he’ll suffer for eternity, but Sam notes maybe he isn’t as stupid as he thinks he is.
The next day, Ben is dating Cassidy publicly in the Work Bench. Sara isn’t thrilled but Ben refuses to back down, saying if she’s free to date then he is too. Sara backs down but Ted sees Ben and Cassidy together and figures Ben is cheating on his “wife.” Sara quickly covers by holding Cassidy’s hand and says they have an understanding. Ted gets the right/wrong idea and offers to provide a fourth if they ever need one.
Ben is having a drunk when the Devil shows up and notes that Andi and Sam are still in danger. However, Sam hands over his “Get Out of Hell Free” card and uses it on Greg’s behalf. He’s figured that the Devil will screw him over no matter what if he uses it, but it will work for Greg. The Devil admires Sam’s burgeoning wisdom but warns Sam may have less time then he thinks.
Later, Sam and Andi are parked under the stars and Andi is thinking about Greg. She admits he’s a tool, but she’s flattered that he traded his soul for her. Sam notes it’s romantic, but she says it’s just crazy. She sees a shooting star and they both look up to the sky.
