Sock works up a video and they show it to Alan, who agrees to help Sam in return for a trip to Italy.

Sam is on the phone with the airport when the Devil teleports him and Morgan to a diner. The Devil tells them that he's disappointed in both of them: Morgan is lazy and Sam whines. He explains that Bud is creating a portal to free more souls for Hell, and Morgan or Sam have to recapture him. After the Devil disappears, Morgan is disappointed that his father is disgusted with him. Touched, Sam finally convinces Morgan that he wants Morgan to win.

Sam and Morgan go back to the pier and prepare to capture Bud. He reveals he's already finished the portal and ignites it, creating a gateway to Hell. Two souls emerge. The vessel don't work on them, just Bud, so Sam tries to hold them off while Morgan goes after Bud. Sam manages to knock them into the portal while Bud throws the remaining into the portal and then knocks down Morgan. He prepares to kill Sam but Morgan holds him off long enough for Sam to shove the soul through the portal and back to Hell. Morgan realizes that Sam "won," but Sam says that they'll lie because without the vessel, there's no evidence of which one captured the soul.

Sock gets Ben to help him get the $10,000 charity money from the estate lawyer. Sock tries to set up Ben as a charitable philanthropist but Ben has his own plan. He shows the lawyer a blueprint for a self-sucking straw, the "Straw-O-Matic." The lawyer doesn't really care and gives them the money. Sock is eager to actually build a self-sucking straw and he and Ben start to make plans as they get home. They discover that Alan is demanding more money in return for helping Sam. The guys consider what to do, but Sam spots the money and Ben gives it to him.

As Sam goes to find Alan, the Devil teleports him to a bar for a celebratory champagne. He knows exactly what happened and has chosen Sam as his lieutenant. Morgan arrives and the Devil gleefully tells him that he's lost everything. Morgan promises to get even with Sam and then leaves, a much poorer man.

At the airport, Alan tells Sam and Andi how he beat the Devil. The Devil loves to compete and thinks he'll win. Alan managed to beat him at poker, but he notes that Sam will have to find something he's good at. The only problem is how to get the Devil to accept a challenge. Alan refuses to tell Sam until he's safely in Vatican City, but promises to call once he's there. Sam and Andi figure he's telling the truth and wish him well.

At the Work Bench, Nina confronts Ben about their relationship. He tells her that after she ignored his request for her to avoid his grandmother, he lied to his grandmother about them breaking up. Ben tells her it's over and Nina warns him that he broke her heart once. This time she isn't going to give him another chance, and he'll live to regret it.

As Sam and Andi celebrate, Sam thanks Andi for her support. She kisses him and apologizes, but Sam says it's fine. However, he wants to wait to renew their relationship until Alan calls with the final information they need.

On the plane, Alan is having a drink when the pilot announces they're having mechanical problems and will be stopping Las Vegas for a maintenance check. The passengers will all receive a complimentary $100 worth of casino chips. As Alan begins to look nervous, the Devil approaches him, disguised as a steward.
