Season 1
1 :01x01 - Guts (Jul/21/2004)
Tommy Gavin is a firefighter with 62 Truck of the FDNY. He's somewhat of a troubled soul. He's still having trouble with the loss of his best friend, cousin, and firefighter - Jimmy. Jimmy was lost and on 9/11 and Tommy still sees him in his mind and talks to him. Additionally, he sees children he's tried to save that didn't make it as well.

Tommy and his wife, Janet, are in the middle of getting a divorce and Tommy is having a hard time with her seeing other men. It's not easy as she lives across the road with their three children.

The other guys of 62 truck have their own quirks including womanizing, gambling problems, and depression. They all play if off as it's no big thing, but each will undoubtedly have to deal with their demons in their own way.

When a retired gay firefighter makes a published claim that several firemen who died in 9/11 were closeted gays, Chief Reilly is determined to set the record straight.

While attempting to mask the pain of losing his wife and kids, Tommy does Jimmy a favor and spies on his widow which leads to a surprising discovery.

The probie must deal with the unexpected repercussions of being a hero after making his first save in a fire.

The hockey game rematch between the NYPD and the FDNY hockey teams is right around the corner and Tommy must figure out a plan to save himself from being pummeled by the cops of the NYPD who have it out for him.

Tommy Gavin is on the verge of destruction. He has spent the last few months looking for his wife who has kidnapped his three kids, dealing with being in a new, uneventful firehouse after a volatile split with his old crew, coming to terms with the fact that his dead cousin's wife, Sheila, is now pregnant with his baby. Tommy is also engaged in a furious battle with his alcohol addiction. At this point, Tommy's only wish is to have his old life back.

At the firehouse, a new firefighter, Sully, has replaced Tommy and is winning over everyone in the house except for Jerry and Lou who remain hopeful that they can get Tommy back on the crew.

Tommy's dad decides to take off while Tommy is gone after they have an argument about their living situation and Tommy has a problem with Lou when he brings home someone that Tommy in uncomfortable with.

Sean and Maggie decide to have a Catholic wedding and go to see the priest. It doesn't turn out to quite the way that Sean had imagined it would.

Two people in Tommy's life are struck down in what may be the final straw for Tommy.

Yet another family tragedy strikes at the Gavins, the outcome of which may bring Tommy and Janet close again as they try to deal with the outcome and Chief Reilly uncharacteristically doesn't show up for work or call. The crew begins to worry and goes to check on him.

Maggie and Sean make a spontaneous decision about their future together and Mike turns to a spiritual figure to seek advice about his sexuality.

Tommy and Janet decide on a course of action as it pertains to her pregnancy and after the child is born, but is reluctant to tell her about the plans he was making with Sheila.

As the fourth season begins, Janet has given birth to a baby boy---whom she fears prefers Tommy to her. But Tommy has a bigger problem: He's suspected of starting the beach-house fire. Meanwhile, Jerry's son asks him to be his best man at his commitment ceremony; Richie wants Franco to marry Natalie; Lou and Theresa get distracted in church; and the volunteer firefighter (Jennifer Esposito) who rescued Tommy from the beach house takes an interest in him---and isn't shy about letting him know.
