well i'm gonna assume that tommy can't, but sheila can. i don't think she'll die though, but it will come to light that she drugged him. i'll again assume they get out and they'll have to have medical tests done. any investigation would want to know if anyone was under the influence of anything.
i again loved the scenes with lou. his character is getting better and better. the scenes with him on the dock were great. i loved when he was finally getting up and that guy walked up behind him and passed him and lou flipped out again and yelled, "where'd he come from?" i also liked the cameo by artie.
it wasn't really that much of a cliffhanger finale, which i'm kinda getting tired of. they kinda wrapped everything up especially the parts of maybe the crew splitting up. the only thing was tommy and sheila and that's not so much a cliffhanger as it is a prelude to the beginning of next season in my opinion. |

Yeah, Lou had me on the floor, or should I say on the deck. "Is the water moving? " lmao
If Sheila dies I wonder if Tommy will have a drug accusation problem? Be accused of arson? Murder? The more I think about it the more I see problems. What else is new, right? |

I've been watching this show since day one, and last nights episode was so powerful, yet hilarious at the same time. The aforementioned dock scenes with Lou and Artie Lange were absolutely gut busting. All of the kids continually running past him, and after all of the times he had told the people he was with to watch their language around the nun, he was letting off a string of 'Jesus Christs' and other profanities.
I feel really bad for Franco. "You did the best you could, right daddy?" That comment had to be a double-edged sword to Franco's heart. I haven't really cared for his character up until this season, but now I do feel sorry for his predicament, even if he did put himself there.
The scene with Chief Pecher [sp?] walking in on Maggie and Sean shagging on his desk, and hovering for a while, requesting that they hand him his magazine was hilarious! I really miss Chief Reilly around the fire house, though, and no, him showing up in his hospital gown doesn't count. That was just depressing.
Speaking of depressing, how about that final scene? That was so powerful, I had to sit back and reflect on the season after the credits were set to roll. Did Janet pass out from the smoke while trying to drag him out, or did she just give up and lay down with him? (She's crazy enough, in my opinion.)
Anyway, I guess I've rattled on for long enough. I've been looking around for a nice place for Rescue Me discussions. Looks like I found this one a little too late.

i too was depressed when chief reilly was in the firehouse. he's a strong and proud man. it must have been killing him to be laying in a hospital bed.
the replacement chief was hilarious, i agree. he just sat there with his IPOD and didn't say anything. they could have started the place on fire and he wouldn't have said crap if he had a mouth full of it.
the last scene with tommy and sheila.... the more i think about it the more i don't know what to think. sheila is definitely crazy as a loon.

Holy crap, it never occurred to me that she just laid down on purpose. Good catch, something else to wonder about. |

I definitely will. I'm a huge fan of the series and would like to have people such as yourselves to talk about it with.

It did sort of look like she just collapsed, given how hard she dropped and lifted the front of the couch when she went, but she looked like she was doing a good job of dragging him before that. Maybe her guilt kicked in and she just layed down, content to burn with her love and to move on into the next life where she would be able to see both him and her deceased ex.
Fire has already claimed a large portion of her life, maybe she decided to just finally give into it. Although her son is the one wild card that would probably make that assumption moot. But he hasn't been getting much, if any, screen time lately. |

I tried to get into Nip/Tuck last season, but it failed to catch my interest. Probably because I wasn't familiar with the characters. I'll try to catch some of the earlier seasons before devoting myself to the new season. |

i never really got into nip/tuck either. it always seems to be on at the same time of something that i want to watch more.
i had a chance to rewatch rescue me's finale and i don't think that sheila gave up and hopped on tommy. she seemed to collapse. she was holding the couch and as she went down, continued to to the point of almost bringing it over with her as she went down. that's my opinion. |

Nip/Tuck is harder, more harsh or something. The characters aren't as sympathetic I guess, but I still like it. In RM I love all the characters. |

The only other two FX shows that hooked me were The Shield and Over There [r.i.p.]
But yeah, I'll agree that she probably just collapsed, just thought I would throw something out there. I'm going to have a hard time waiting eight more months for a new season. |
