In an atmosphere of nervous excitement for Emily & Daniel's upcoming engagement party, things quickly start to unravel: Victoria tries to regain the upper hand by using Conrad's own father against him; Jack finds himself wandering deeper into the fray; the rug gets pulled out from under Charlotte, and even more so for Emily.
The scene opens with Emily on voiceover talking about a book she learned about from a boy, William Blake’s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, “if the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man s it is, infinite,” she reads. With her narration running in the background, everybody’s opening invitations to the Fire and Ice ball, engagement party for Emily and Daniel. Her own perception is blinded by revenge, and thus it is difficult for her to look at things in any other, she says. Meanwhile, Victoria watches David on her computer, talking to someone about how Victoria is raising their child, and is a victim herself. Meanwhile, Emily checks Amanda’s confiscated cell phone, and sees seven messages from Jack; much to her surprise. ..Read the full recap
