Revolution (2012)

This needs to be canceledRating: 11 likes, 18 dislikes
Although having an interesting premise this is a real pain to watch. The writing is as predictable as a calendar, the only likeable character is one of the "bad guys" (the captain).
And the acting, oh, the acting. A pretty face doesn't make an actor, which becomes painfully clear in this show.
Seriously, America needs to stop producing dumb shows like this. It's such a waste producing for the "lowest common denominator", all the stupid people are satisfied with trivial shows in the "reality" genre.
So make scripted shows smart and interesting, I know you can!

Ironically not a Revolution in television producti...Rating: 7 likes, 19 dislikes
Well, with the library of good shows to their names, Kripke and Abrams should have been able to pull out a stunner together. Alas, not so! The idea is a potential gold mine, despite being yet another armageddon based series, if only the actual product wasn't such a cataclysm.

I found it to be cheesy, anachronistic, predictable and slightly ridiculous in presentation. The basic premise of humanity, suddenly, having to deal with a complete absence of electricity is full of plot lines and even educational potential. Unfortunately the writing was dumbed down, to reach a low intelligence audience.

Thirty years after civilization had crumbled there was no real indication of hardship. All of the characters were wearing brand new clothes. The former Google geek was really fat. Airplanes sat on the tarmac in pristine condition. The cities were just emptier versions of todays metropolis. And on, and on!

It really is a shame that a quality show, like Terra Nova, was canceled on the FOX network while NBC answers with...this.

Apparently even the great producers haven't learned any lessons from shows like Lost, Heroes, X-Files, Buffy/Angel, Stargate, Farscape, Jericho, First Wave, Alcatraz... they seem to be making the same mistakes over and over - but bigger and worse than before.

I really do hope that the opening show was just an aberration, that the premise will be allowed to live up to it's promise, but I'm not going to hold my breath after that start.

O-M-G ; where to begin, really as the previous responses state that the story line/plots/was capable of some stunning Archs the Acting and dialogue are just Horrid ! First off this main Character the Eldest Sister the beauty that she is is such a Dumb is dumber character. From the very get-go in the Pilot she along with her even more stupid brother Inject the story line with the such idiotic acts that surely the Militia would react and take their Dad out for their prideful reactions. The Militia comes to town to question their Dad and these siblings go and get him killed on their own, then to make matters worse the sister gets her brother taken into custody. Then the story develops into the sister having to track and bring her brother back into the fold, and what fold is that ? As her Mom is no-where to be found yet lurking in the story-line several episodes into the future, even more stupid scripting from the writers/developers. But back to the heroine/sister as she makes idiotic move after move, I mean how stupid can a pretty girl be in a doomsday scenario. leaves most sane thinking adults to wonder how she made it as long as she had or in fact her whole family too. Then comes the Dead killed by Militia Scientist Father's close but evil Brother to help track down his Nephew; let the sword fighting commence. How horrible the fight scenes another O-M-G moment or should I say moments. If it were not for the Horrendous scripting/story-line the acting would be even worse. At least one can conclude that an actor can only do so much with a ridiculous script and surely these home-spun unknown actors are not allowed free range improv. And if this was not bad enough we have to bear thru the scenes and filming locations with the cut grass scenes at the farm where miraculously Electrical Power works. And even after 4 years the characters hold on dearly to their I-Phones surely if you have lived thru many-many years of No Electricity you would keep your I-Phone in your vest pocket ! I wonder why such a Horrid start to an Interesting Plot, and know full-well that this show will not last even the first season. A shame as the story line holds credence and it would be interesting to say the least to watch how a scenario like this could actually develop. The Creators leaned way too heavily on this one family dynamic and they got it 100% wrong.

I heard about Revolution, but it didn’t really leave enough of an impact for me to make time to watch it. After I realized my Hopper automatically records prime time TV on NBC I decided to check it out. This series is awesome! I have always wanted to know what the world would be like if it were robbed of electricity and this is exactly what I imagined. The mystery of how the electricity went out is a lot of the appeal, but the sword fighting scenes are why I watch. They are epic! This guy that works at DISH with me has started calling Billy Burkes Chuck Norris.
