Recap

At Bolton's Landing, Grey supervises the loading of wood onboard. Once they're ready, he tells Ben to make ready to cast off because they have to be in Natchez and then St. Louis in 72 hours. A woman, Ellie Jenkins, arrives at the dock and calls to Grey to wait for her. As Ben blows the whistle, Ellie's carriage horse panics and runs away, throwing her off the carriage. Grey goes to her aid and Ellie complains that there was three hundred pounds of freight on her wagon,. The captain refuses to send anyone after it and Ellie steps onto the ship and says that he'll have to throw her off. Grey is ready to do so but Ellie points out the Southern gentlemen onboard and warns Grey they won't do business with him if he manhandles a lady and tells him to send men to recover her wagon...

Episode Quotes
Melissa McCabe: That Captain Holden. He's full of surprises.
Ellie Jenkins: Not half as full as he's going to be in a few minutes.

Grey: Well, the boat wasn't too badly hurt. And since it's been fixed, I've been thinking...
Ellie Jenkins: That we could patch up our differences as well. Well just how do you suggest we go about it?
Grey: Well, until we become really close friend, I--I guess we're stuck with the pleasurable stimulus of labial juxtaposition. (kisses her)
