The scene opens a girl doing drugs when she hears a man get into a truck. She looks down and sees the man open a crate in the truck and take some cocaine. He gets out of the truck and is met by a guy. He tells that the boss wants to meet him first. Another man approaches and they find cocaine on him. He is shot in the head. The next day at the gym, Jane and Maura are working out and Maura is complimenting one of the officer’s muscles and butt. Jane feels embarrassed. Maura gets off the exercise equipment and says that Bass, her pet tortoise, is ill. Jane can’t believe that she took him to work with her. Jane gets a call from Murray, a bar owner, who says that he is trying to get a head count for the surprise party. Jane asks what party and he hangs up quickly. Jane goes up to Frankie and asks if he has heard of a surprise party and they realize that their mom and dad are doing something.

They get to the bar and they find out that their brother Tommy is coming home and they are not too pleased. Angela and Frank are not happy that Jane and Frankie are not happy with the welcome home party and ask why they can’t give him a chance. Jane tells that they are at a bar to greet a recovering alcoholic. They tell that they are not serving any, but Jane doesn’t believe that Tommy is going to stay sober. Angela tells them not to come and Jane gets a call and says that they have a cop shot. They get to the scene of the crime and Maura is there. Korsak tells that the cop was Detective Danny Clarke. Korsak says that Danny was a new father too. They morn over the death of the officer and Maura sees that there is some hair missing from his chest and Korsak says that Danny was wearing a wire. Lt. Sean Cavanaugh comes up and tells that Danny was working with Homicide. Jane doesn’t like it and Detective Bobby Marino comes in and yells at Cavanaugh and tells that he better have a good reason. Cavanaugh tells that Jane is the best at interviewing and tells her to get him out of there. Maura hands Jane a cigarette package.
At the station, Maura gives money to the coffee fund and she talks about Bass, her tortoise. Jane is distracted and tells that Tommy is coming home. Maura listens to her as she tells that she doesn’t trust him and tells that it will be alright. Jane realizes that she has the cigarettes still that she has to log into evidence, but decides to take the coffee to Bobby first. She sits down with him and he tells that he thought that Danny was a Dirty Cop because he got secretive suddenly and not explaining everything. Frankie comes up and says that they have a woman that they arrested at the warehouse. Jane meets with the girl and asks if she saw the men’s faces and she tells that she wants a deal. However, Jane tells that she will go back to prison if she doesn’t tell them. She starts to panic when Jane tells that Danny was a police officer. Meanwhile, the man from the beginning of the episode that saw Danny be killed shows up. He shoots the officer and his team sets up a media jammer and kills the electricity as well. Frankie walks out and is shot by the man.
Maura sees that the power is out and sits next to Bass and tells him that everything is alright. The men enter the evidence room next to Maura’s office and start to look for something. However, they can’t find what they are looking for. In the interview room, the witness is panicking still and Jane tells her to stay calm. She reaches for her gun, but realizes that she left it in the drawer of her desk. They run into the stairwell and Jane tells the girl to wait for her. She goes to her desk to find that her gun is gone. She hears gun shots and there is a man standing over the girl and he turns around and is about to shoot Jane, when Bobby shoots the man. He comes out limping. Frankie crawls and says that he was shot. She runs to his side and Bobby and her get him to Maura. They lay him on the table and realize that Frankie is in worse shape than they thought. Maura examines him while Bobby watches the door and realizes that Frankie is not going to make it unless they get him to a hospital soon.

Back at the warehouse, Korsak inspects the cocaine that was found in the truck and talks to Barry and asks why two truckers were killed over such a small amount. He tells that he wants to check their licenses and Barry finds out that they both got their licenses on the same day. Korsak suspects that Cavanaugh had something to do with hiding the fact that the two drivers of the truck have priors of possession of cocaine and selling it. Back at the station, Maura tells that she has to have him at a hospital, but Jane tells that she has to help him now. She improvises and buys him some more time. However, Maura says that it is not going to last and that he is going to have to get medical care or he is going to die.
At the bar, Angela and Frank laugh about old times when Tommy calls and tells that he doesn’t want to come to the party. Angela tries to convince him to come, but he doesn’t listen. They feel heartbroken. Back at the crime scene, Korsak tells that Danny and Bobby worked Charlestown and the truckers were from there as well. Korsak tells Barry to try Jane and he tells that it goes strait to voicemail. He tries the station and it is a recording. Korsak sees that something is going on and they rush there. Inside the medical room, Frankie’s condition is worse and he starts to cough up blood. Jane begs Maura to save him and she tries her best. Korsak and Barry arrive at the station and suddenly they are shot at. They hide and call in for back up. Cavanaugh arrives and Korsak asks him if he had anything to do with this and he tells that he has no ties to this. Korsak realizes that they can communicate with Jane and she tells that they have two people wounded. Jane tells Korsak that they are looking for something. Maura says that they were looking for something but couldn’t find it. Jane tells that it was the cigarettes and Korsak tells that Danny didn’t smoke.

Suddenly the man from the beginning comes in and tells them to drop the radio. He tells Jane to get the cigarettes and tells her to give them to Bobby. Jane realizes that the entire time, Bobby was one of them and he takes out the camera that was a cigarette. Bobby shoots his partner and tells that he is going to play the hero now. However, Maura pushes the button so that Korsak can hear. Bobby is told that it is over by Korsak and the team enters and start taking out the men around the building. Bobby grabs Jane as his hostage. They can’t get a shot because Bobby is holding Jane too tight. Jane grabs the gun and shoots herself to shoot Bobby. As she falls to the ground, Maura runs to her side. The episode ends.
