Episode Quotes

(Robin takes on a knight in hand to hand combat with the baby in his arms)
Robin Hood: Do you mind? I'm just trying to get the baby to sleep!

Roy: My name is Royston White, I fight for Robin Hood and King Richard!
Sheriff of Nottingham: (sarcastically) "Royston White, I fight for King and Country!" Blah-di-blah-di-blah.

Episode Goofs

While the guards prepare Roy's mother Mary for her impending lynching - the Sheriff mockingly quotes his own version of the nursery rhyme "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary" ... while the actual date and author of this rhyme is unknown. It is commonly believed that the rhyme was written in reference to possibly one of three women: Queen Mary I of England, Mary Tudor or Mary, Queen of Scots. If this is true - then it is highly unlikely that someone in the Eleventh Century would be familiar with a nursery rhyme written about someone born 400 years in the future.

Cultural References

The sarcastic way the Sheriff says Roy's mother's name: Mary Mary after catching the outlaws in his vault trying rescue her - is possibly a reference to the pop hit "Mary Mary" by The Monkees.
