Each of the fifteen contestants perform a song of their own choice. INXS members select the three worst performances. The three up for elimination are Dana Robbins from Reseda, California, Jason Bennison from Oaksville, Ontario, and Suzie McNeil from Toronto. After a brief consideration INXS sent 30-year-old Dana home.
The fourteen remaining contestants perform songs from a list of the compositions preselected by INXS. After nearly being eliminated on the first show, Suzie and J.D. give much better performances than the others.
Suzie sings the Blondie song "Call Me", while J.D. sings his prewritten arrangement of "California Dreaming" and then the audience gets to vote for who stays and goes for the first time.
The votes are tallied and INXS calls J.D. to the stage, much to his relief it's for an encore performance. The three with the fewest votes are Tara from Toronto, Wil from North Carolina, and Suzie for the second time. Tara sings "New Sensation." Wil sings "Need You Tonight." Suzie sings "Never Tear Us Apart." Wil Seabrook fails to improve on his performance from the night before and is the next one sent home.
Thirteen new songs for the thirteen contestants, Deanna and Tara argue over “Paranoid” from Black Sabbath. Ultimately, Deanna lets Tara have the song and gets stuck with R.E.M.'s "The One I Love." Dave Navarro gives them a style clinic.
Thirteen singers and thirteen songs. Jordis and Marty put on the best shows while J.D. shows the world how childish he is by insulting the other contestants.
The one thing missing from today's show is an encore. The contestants are reminded that they should still be angry at J.D. Tara, Jessica and Neal are the bottom three. Neal sings "Suicide Blonde." Tara sings "Mystify." Jessica sings "Don't Change." Neal goes home. "He just wasn't right for INXS".
The would-be rockers are distraught by Neal getting the boot as the all felt he had more talent than most of the remaining contestants.
Garry and Tim lead the stage presence clinic. Twelve new songs are picked. J.D. begs Jordis to let him have Queen's "We Are The Champions" then when he realizes that he can't sing it, he tries to get her to switch songs with him
Although Jordis missed some words to "Gimmie Some Lovin'" from the Spencer Davis Group, she does an outstanding job. Even though J.D. maims his version of "We Are the Champions", Dave Navarro saves his harshest remarks for Marty's performance, which the live audience enjoyed, earning Dave some well deserved boos for the unjustifiable criticism.
In spite of Navarro's criticism the night before, Marty is selected to do the encore performance with his rendition of Nirvana's "Lithium". In spite of J.D.'s appalling performance on the performance show, he doesn’t face elimination. The bottom three are Jessica, Heather and Daphna. Daphna sings, “What You Need”, Heather sings, “By My Side”, and Jessica Sings “Elegantly Wasted”, all from INXS. In a surprise double elimination, both Daphna and Heather are sent home.
The potential Rock Stars are devastated by the double elimination the night before. The ten remaining contestants are given a vocal clinic that exposes Brandon and Deanna’s weaknesses, but may ultimately help them. J.D. misleads Suzie in order to get the song he wants.
MiG, who previously starred in the West End production of the Queen musical, sings “We will Rock You”, getting the crowd fired up. Jordis sings “The Man Who Sold The World“, which Dave Navarro calls "the best vocal performance ever." J.D. does an imitation of Joe Cocker.
Jordis is selected to do an encore performance of David Bowie's “The Man Who Sold The World.“ Brandon, Ty, and Tara are the bottom three. Brandon sings, “Devil Inside”, Tara sings, “Beautiful Girl” and Ty sings “Kick”. Tara is the one who goes home.
Angrily, Ty says “I have to think about what I 'represent'. You can count on your hand how many people have been able to succeed in rock ‘n roll that are African-American”. The contestants have a clinic on media. J.D. uses his self-declared "kill 'em with kindness" strategy to great effect once more.
Suzie sings a J.D. inspired rearrangement of “Losing My Religion,” by R.E.M. In response to her performance, Kirk says “That was just a dream.” Once again, Dave Navarro seems upset that anyone sang Nirvana, after Jessica sings Nirvana‘s “Come As You Are.” Ty does an incredible version of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry.” Brooke announces the early vote returns, which show Jessica, Brandon and Deanna with the fewest votes.
The results of last night's voting is revealed and Brandon, Jessica, and Suzie are in the bottom three. Everyone is shocked that Suzie would wind up as one of the low vote getters. Ty is selected to do the encore with "No Woman No Cry." Marty's outstanding performance the night before again wins special props from the judges. In INXS songs, Jessica performs "Disappear"; Brandon tries to perform "Don't Lose Your Head" but forgets the lyrics; "Suzie performs "Bitter Tears." Ultimately Brandon is eliminated from the competition when INXS take offense at his lyrical errors.
In this week's reality show, the contestants are given a songwriting clinic. They are divided into two teams with Ty, MiG, Suzie and Deanna on one team and Marty, Jordis, Jessica and J.D. on the other. Ty’s team comes up with a song that Dave later says has “an Electric Company feel.” On Marty’s team J.D. gets upset and goes off by himself. Ty’s team wins because they worked together.
J.D. is confronted on stage after his actions cause tensions to continue to rise. Tonight’s acoustic only show features Mig’s rendition of “Baby. I Love Your Way” by Peter Frampton, and the Bob Dylan classic “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” as sung by Jordis.
In tonight's elimination show, we are told that Jordis, Marty and MiG received the top three votes. MiG gets to do a well deserved encore of Peter Frampton's “Baby I Love Your Way”. In contrast to the infighting by other contestants, MiG brings Marty and Jordis on stage with him to do the backup vocals. Suzie, Jessica, and Deanna are the bottom three.
Suzie sings “By My Side”, Jessica sings “Mystify”, and Deanna sings “Never Tear Us Apart”. In the end, Jessica is sent home.
In the week seven reality show, Dave Navarro shows up at the mansion while the contestants are in the process of getting drunk. He tells them they have to write their own songs to perform. Later, they are told that only three of them get to write their own songs, while the other four will get to do classic rock songs. Suzie is worried that she’ll end up in the bottom three once again. MiG gets a surprise for having received the highest vote total.
After a brief recap of the previous show, Suzie starts the performances by singing “Start Me Up” by the Rolling Stones. J.D. shows his skills as an Elvis impersonator. Deanna and MiG do their original songs, as everyone else sings classic rock songs. Ty gets background vocal assistance from Suzie, Deanna, and Jordis on his version of “Proud Mary”. Early voting results show that Deanna, Ty and Jordis are in the bottom three by the end of the show.
Brooke Burke tells us that during the entire voting process for this week's elimination, only Suzie was never in the bottom three at any time. As a reward, INXS picks Suzie to sing the encore of "Start Me Up". Ty Taylor, Deanna Johnston, and Marty Casey are the bottom three, with INXS ultimately sending Deanna home.
In an exorcise to see how well the rockers can learn new songs, the contestants are given a new INXS song called “Us”. They have a day to practice it, then are sent into the studio with Andrew and John Farriss. Everyone gets the song right except for J.D. who didn't bother to learn it at all, even though that was the point of the challenge. In song selection, both MiG and Suzie want to sing "Bohemian Rhapsody" from Queen, everyone else gets the songs they want.
Jordis Makes a come back from the week before's poor performance by doing an amazing job on “Imagine”. Suzie continues to shine on the Queen song "Bohemian Rhapsody." The former Elvis impersonator, J.D., does his own version of The King‘s “Suspicious Minds."
Suzie gets picked to do an encore of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen and she gets to select someone else to do an encore as well. She chooses Martyps rendition of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here”. The early results from the previous episode had J.D., Ty, and Marty in the bottom, but Marty got more votes as voting continued, and Jordis landed in the bottom group. In the end, INXS sadly sends Ty home.
The five contestants get to perform original songs and songs picked by the viewers. J.D. starts the show with an improved version of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” which Dave loves like all of his performances. Suzie and Jordis do well on their songs. For MiG’s original he does a ballad that’s quite slow. Finally, Marty brings the house down with his original song “Trees”. The early vote returns show Marty in the lead followed by Suzie, J.D., MiG, and then Jordis.
Back in the house, the contestants are saddened by Ty’s departure, especially Jordis. The clinic for this week is a photo shoot. Some of them do better than others posing for the camera. Later that evening, the rockers find out that they get to sing songs that have been selected for them to perform by the viewers. The contestants also get to sing original songs.
J.D. does an encore of his original as voted on by the viewers this week. After that, all the singers perform original INXS songs. J.D. lands in the bottom three with Jordis and Suzie. After their performances Tim Farriss tells Jordis that she is “Just not right for our band," bouncing the crowd favorite from the competition.
Only when Suzie mentions it does everyone else realize that MiG has not yet had to perform an INXS song. This week's clinic is a one-on-one interview with INXS. They find out they are to sing two songs this week. J.D. and Marty both get to sing their original songs.
After a recap of the reality show, Suzie sings "Interstate Love Song" from The Stone Temple Pilots and "What's Up", from 4 Non Blondes. J.D. sings his rewritten "Pretty Vegas" and "Money" from Pink Floyd. Marty sings his own song "Trees" and then "Creep" by Radiohead. MiG performs The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" and "Kiss from a Rose" from Seal.
Out of the remaining four, Marty is the only singer with immunity. The viewers picked Marty to do the encore and J.D. is selected to be the warm up gag. The bottom three singers do well on the INXS songs, but ultimately INXS reluctantly decide to send Suzie home.
The three remaining contestants MiG Ayesa, Marty Casey and J.D. Bennison write songs with Andrew Farriss.
In the shocking Season Finale, MiG sings “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Jason Dean Bennison impersonates Mick Jagger on the classic “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” Then, Marty sings “Wish You Were Here.” INXS starts paring down, by eliminating their fellow countryman.
Down to the final two, Marty leads with the INXS song “Don’t Change.” Then J.D. draggles with “What You Need.” finally INXS decides to make Jason Dean Bennison, professional Elvis Impersonator and jingle writer their new lead singer.
The contestants are introduced.
The bottom three, Chris, Phil and Matt, perform. Chris chooses to sing The Doors’ “L.A. Woman”, Phil sings Switchfoot's "Stars" and Matt performs Duran Duran's "Planet Earth".
The past week in the house is recaped and the contestants all perform to be the next member of Supernova.
Toby is chosen by Supernova to perform an encore of The Killers' "Somebody Told Me". Next, the bottom three, Jill, Chris, and Zayra, perform Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life", Tonic's "If You Could Only See", and The Kinks' "You Really Got Me", respectively.
A recap of the fights in the house during the past week are shown as the contestants argue over what songs they will perform. During the performances, Ryan, Dana, Patrice, and Tony are told that their singing is good, but their stage performances are questionable, and Magni and Dilana are given good reviews by Supernova.
The highlights from the past week in the house are shown and Magni is chosen by Supernova to do this week's encore performance. The bottom three, Jenny, Dana, and Josh perform Stone Temple Pilots' "Vasoline", Sass Jordan's "High Road Easy", and Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box", respectively.
