The scene where Rocko and the gang put on suits and use squirt guns spoofs the Ghostbusters (1984) movie.

Mortimer: . . . a hungry passenger aboard the airship Hillenburger.

This spoofs the Hindenburg Zeppelin that exploded and then crashed in May of 1937, resulting in the death of 36 people. The name also comes from one of the Directors of Rocko's Modern Life, Stephen Hillenburg.

Title: Feisy Geist

The episode title is a spoof of the movie Poltergeist (1982), and its many sequels.
