Jack acts like it doesn't bother him, but Rodney, wracked with guilt, wonders if he made the right decision. Meanwhile, Trina gives Charlie money to enroll at the local community college, but Charlie focuses more on buying new clothes, getting invited to keg parties and being popular than she does on her studies.

Once there, Rodney tries to impress Trina's boss. However, a series of embarrassing incidents aren't likely to help Trina's cause.

One of Barry's crazy pranks includes publishing Rodney's obituary, which brings an unexpected visitor to Rodney's doorstep-his estranged father who hasn't seen Rodney since he was 16.

Meanwhile, Charlie wonders if she and her fiance, Kirk, can look forward to the same fun and loving relationship that Rodney and Trina have.

Meanwhile, Trina and Charlie have a Tupperware-style "lingerie party" and discover at the end of the party that one of the marital aid gadgets is missing.

But in the middle of their fun day, Rodney decides he wants to keep a golf date with Barry, causing Trina to question -- with some encouragement from Charley -- why she and her husband can't be together for just one whole day.

Meanwhile, back home, Charlie throws a party for her junior college friends at Rodney and Trina's, and a reluctant Barry decides to join in the fun.

Rodney and Trina have a bitter feud over which angel to put on a Christmas tree that her father, Carl, overcharged them for. So when Rodney goes to Carl’s office to demand a new, free family tree, he finds that Carl has been living down and out in his office. In the true spirit of Christmas, Rodney decides to make peace with Carl and invites him to live with them until he gets back on his feet.
