In this episode of Rookie Blue the rookies are now learning the hard lesson of not just looking out for themselves, but their partners. There is a murderer that has escaped from being transported to another prison. Traci and Chris need to go figure out where he may be and looking for a needle in a haystack. Gail has been set up with Officer Williams and she won't be treating her like the queen she thinks she is. Dov needs to get a suspect and knock him down if he needs to. Should be easy, right?
The undercover cop that Andy had busted is named Sam. He has an old informant, Emily, that has been snatched due to her cover being blown. He never carded her and is in trouble due to that, but he needs to get it together to find this girl. He also needs to find information about the guy that he has been working on bringing down for the past eight months--Anton. When he goes off to try and find/save Emily he drops Andy off at the station because he has decided for her that he doesn't want her to get into trouble like he is going to be in.
Traci is a pretty incredible rookie so far and she has found a pretty good tip. Well, she found a tip from someone who is a complete drunk and she just so happens to lie about it because she is embarrassed about where she got that information from. She even lies to her boyfriend who's name is Jerry Barber and he's a detective. When the rookies go out on the field and are still proving themselves rookies by their behaviors. We see Dov not wanting to listen to what his trainer is saying and allowing for a suspect to get away. Then after that Gail doesn't even chase a suspect while she is the only one there because her trainer told her to stay where she was.
The cops are finally on the right lead at a nearby campus. Dov has found the suspect and brought him down by using pressure points. He is happy and cocky about his take down, but for whatever reason Gail takes the credit for having taken the suspect down. This wasn't very nice, but that will be dealt with later on.
Andy has tracked down accounting files and swoops in to save Sam. Sam's informant, Emily, has also escaped unscathed. The unfortunate part of all of this is that Anton gets away again. This is a true show of what really goes along. It can't always be so black and white and they all definitely broke the rules. During the whole show it seems that Andy and Sam bond on a different level than they are even supposed to consider. They even have a moment at the bar at the end of the night when they almost kiss one another. They tell each other to "disregard" so that they would back off from it.
