Recap

The episode begins with Gail and Andy doing make up, and readying to go out dancing. They convince Traci to come along with them for just one drink, despite her protests. Next day morning Nick drives Andy and Gail to the precinct as they are severely hung over. Later, Andy pumps up Traci for her first day as a trainee detective. She tells Tracy that she is where she is because she deserves to be there and not because she is sleeping with Jerry. Epstein meanwhile tells Frank that he will do anything to get back to work. Frank tells him that he can’t have Epstein back till the police shrink clears him, and for that he has to pay the shrink a visit. He tells Frank that he doesn’t need a shrink but only needs to get back to the job, but Frank tells him firmly that it won’t happen till he is cleared. ..

Episode Quotes
Chris: I've never seen you guys like this before. Why didn't you just call in sick?
Andy: Because it's Traci's first day, she needs us.
Gail: Yeah, and I need a mint.

Oliver: Are you leaving without saying hi to your favorite training officer?
Dov: Well Noelle's busy, so...
Oliver: (laughs) nice, Epstein. You haven't lost your sense of humor.

Sam: Good morning, McNally. You look absolutely ravishing. Nash's first day and you're going out there hungover. Nice work, real rookie move.
Andy: Okay, I've been doing this job for two years now. I know exactly what I'm doing and I'm not hungover.
Sam: You've got sparkles in your hair.

Sam: Sometimes, uh, I hold on a little tight because I don't want you guys to get hurt or screw up.
Andy: I know. Traci messed up. You know, the world didn't end.
Sam: She's gonna make a hell of a detective.
Andy: Yeah, well, we...we were trained by the best.

Episode Goofs
Continuity:

When Traci is looking at the results of the drug test she is holding the edges of the paper with both hands. The camera angle changes and Traci is suddenly facing slightly away from Andy and is only holing the paper by the very bottom of the page.

Cultural References
Batman: Gail suggests that they cook Dov food and rent him some Batman to make him feel better.

This is likely a reference to one of the most recent 'Batman' films starring Christian Bale.

G.I. Joe: Sam refers to his rookie, Nick, as G.I. Joe when talking to Oliver.

'G.I. Joe' is an action figure toy made by Hasbro that was turned into a film franchise. The most recent film came out in 2013 and starred Dwayne Johnson.

Spartacus: Oliver tells Traci that all of the girls involved in the accident are "playing 'I'm Spartacus.'"

This is a reference to the 1960 American historical epic 'Spartacus' starring Kirk Douglas.
